WORD COUNT: 3.8k
AN: This is set during the Golden Age, so all of them are adults!! also your title is fair, as in an adjective for just, not at all a description of what the reader looks like!!
part two (mine, all mine, all mine)
one.
He hadn’t meant to listen in to his wife’s meeting, really. But when he noticed Lord Eluna raising his voice, he couldn’t help but linger outside of the door, his hand on his sword's hilt. Y/N’s constantly calm voice interrupted the seething lord. “While I understand the importance of this situation, it does not warrant you to act poorly towards your queen, Lord Eluna.”
The man scoffed. “By marriage. A marriage which could be easily annulled, seeing as you have not produced his grace any heirs.”
Y/N laughed, seemingly not phased by his comment. “We are not in desperate need of any heirs, my lord. If you haven’t noticed, we have a plethora of rulers. Unless you are planning something that would warrant the need of heirs.” She paused, and Edmund could only assume the look on her face, the one she typically made when she was proving him wrong. "Are you?"
“How dare you insinuate-”
Edmund forced down a laugh, barging into the room. “My lords.”
The table of twelve men stood, bowing to their superior. Half hearted ‘Your Grace’s’ were thrown Edmund’s way, but he could not care less. He looked at the man who was still glaring daggers at his wife. “Lord Eluna.”
“Your Grace.” He tore his eyes from the young queen. “We were just-”
“Yes.” Edmund raised an eyebrow, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “I heard. And while I appreciate your obviously kind and thoughtful concern, my wife and I do not need your advice on that particular matter.”
Y/N turned bright red, widening her eyes when all the lord's jaws dropped. “Edmund-”
“I’m sure whatever you were meeting about can be postponed.” Edmund looked around the table, waiting for an answer. “Well?” The lords clambered, nodding quickly in agreement. He smirked and walked over to his wife, holding out his arm for her to hold. “My love.”
She rolled her eyes but still hooked her arm through his. “You are quite dramatic.”
He laughed, ignoring the prying eyes around them. “I haven’t the faintest idea what you mean.” The couple walked out the doors, giggling when they knew the lords could no longer hear them. Edmund frowned, rubbing her arm comfortingly. “Do they always treat you so horribly?”
“You cannot keep doing this, Ed.” She sighed.
“What am I do-”
She glared at him. “You know what you’re doing. They will never learn to respect me if you keep coming to my defense.”
“It’s been two years. They should have respected you the minute I married you. Actually-” He scoffed. “They should respect you because it’s the right thing to do.”
They walked into their chambers, collapsing onto the bed. Edmund wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her in as she traced shapes into his chest. “You're a gallant and honorable man, Edmund, much more than your lords. But you know as well as I that those old malcontents will never respect me until I give them a reason to.”
“I wish it wasn’t so.” He leaned down, kissing her temple. “You are a much better leader than me.”
She scoffed, leaning into his touch. “Not true.”
“Yes.” He nodded, staring at the ceiling. “You are.”
“If I am..." She appeased him. "It is only because I’ve watched you and your siblings rule with kindness and justice for so long. Please do not put yourself down for my sake.” She stretched up, kissing him gently. “Never put yourself down; you are too perfect for that.”
“If you insist.” He smiled, feeling lovesick. How could he not? The most beautiful woman in all of Narnia, or, more accurately, the universe, lay beside him.
Of course, he felt lovesick.
two.
“Happy Birthday, my love.” Y/N smiled mischievously at her husband. “How old are you now? Eighty?”
He glared, kissing her cheek softly. “What a charmer you are.”
She nodded and took a deep breath, straightening her dress as they prepared to enter the ballroom. “Well, you didn’t marry me for my baking skills.”
He rolled his eyes. “Your baking skills are perfectly adequate.”
She scoffed, looking up at him once more. “Don’t lie to me, Edmund Pevensie.” She fought the smile that threatened to break her act. “You flatter me too much, I think.”
He felt the overwhelming urge to kiss her senselessly. He had that urge constantly, but it was especially difficult at that moment. “You are a true beauty. Have I told you?”
She blushed, turning her face back towards the grand doors. “Behave.”
He nodded, still looking at her in awe, enjoying the way her flushed cheeks complemented her dress. He had always loved her in the color blue. “Yes, ma’am.”
The ushers opened the doors, and they stepped forward. “King Edmund the Just, and Queen Y/N the Fair.”
The room exploded into applause for the Just King, and the pair descended the stairs, focusing on not falling in front of all their subjects. Peter, Susan, and Lucy sat on their thrones at the bottom, smiling brightly. Lucy gestured toward the Maestro, and Edmund led his wife to the middle of the ballroom. “I do wonder what they'll play.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow. “What did you do?”
“I don’t know what you mean.”
Y/N's smile grew as their wedding waltz’s familiar intro echoed through the hall. “This isn’t fair.”
He laughed at the irony. “Why not, my love?”
“It is your birthday, not our anniversary.”
He spun her around the room, whispering. “I happen to like this song.”
“Edmund…” She blushed again. “You should have chosen a song that you love.”
“I did.” The waltz ended, and he bowed. “It reminds me of you; why wouldn’t I love it?”
Her eyes were watering, and he suddenly felt horrible, his stomach twisting. “I’m sorry, did I-”
She leaped up, kissing him soundly. The crowd gasped, but Edmund didn’t care. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. She leaned back, their foreheads touching. “I don’t deserve you.”
His heart felt full. “Quite the opposite, really.” He kissed her once more, nuzzling his nose with hers. “I love you.”
Lucy clapped her hands, pulling the crowd's attention away from the happy couple. “Thank you all so much for attending my brother’s 24th birthday ball!” The room erupted into cheers. Lucy smiled. “Help yourselves to the buffet, or take to the dance floor. Happy Birthday, dear brother.”
The crowd dispersed, and the pair walked up to the thrones, sitting beside each other, still holding hands. Peter muttered, smirking. “Couldn’t have waited until later?”
Edmund rolled his eyes. “Just because you don’t have a love li-”
Y/N scolded her husband. “Ed.”
Peter glared playfully at his brother. “My love life is none of your business, thank you very much.”
Susan laughed. “How is she?”
Peter blushed. “She has a name.” He straightened his posture, looking out into the crowd for who Y/N could only assume they were talking about. “As perfect as ever.”
Lucy giggled. “Have you tried talking to her?”
Peter closed his eyes, leaning his head back against his throne. “I am getting attacked from all sides, it seems.”
Y/N smiled. “I think it’s sweet. You seem very in love.” He smiled back, looking longingly at the buffet table, where a gorgeous maid stood handing out desserts. Y/N nudged him lightly. “You could ask her to dance.”
He laughed, and when he realized his sister in law was not laughing, stopped. “I fear she would not like the fuss.”
“Ah.” Y/N looked over at the girl again. “I will be right back.”
Edmund whined. “Where are you off to?”
“None of your business, Edmund.” She kissed his cheek quickly. “Do have fun at your own birthday party.”
He sighed as she walked away. “How can I when you’re leaving?”
The fair queen glided across the floor with the intention of making conversation with the girl the High King was infatuated with. She had almost reached Peter's love when a hand wrapped around her waist. She gasped, pulling herself out of the stranger’s hold. The visibly drunk lord bowed teasingly. “My Lady, would you care-” A hiccup interrupted his question. “Would you care to dance?”
She smiled politely. “I’m afraid my card is full for the night. But thank you for the offer.”
The man tried to speak again, but she turned around, walking back towards the maid.
Edmund had seen the entire interaction, gripping the handles of his throne tight enough to break the solid stone. Peter whispered. “Edmund, don’t do anything rash-”
“He just-”
Peter gave him the stare, that older brother stare that he tried to reserve for hard moments. “He will be dealt with, trust me, but you need to be subtle-”
Edmund stood up, stalking over to the drunken lord. Peter sighed once more. "He will be the first to give me gray hairs.”
Susan rolled her eyes. “You are twenty-seven, Peter. You’re not graying anytime soon.”
Edmund grabbed the lord’s arm, dragging him out to the balcony. “A nice night, isn’t it?”
The lord was in shock, nodding. “Yes, Your Grace.” He grinned. “It is truly an honor to have been invited to your-”
“It was a nice night.” The young king smiled condescendingly. “Until you harassed my wife.”
“I-” The old man stuttered. “I meant no disrespect.”
“Don’t lie to your king.” Edmund seethed. “If you ever do that again, I will rue the day, believe me.” He took a deep breath. “You will apologize to my wife, and after that, you will leave immediately. You are fortunate that I don’t ensure you are barred from the castle grounds.”
The lord looked upset. Good, Edmund thought, serves him right. “But Your Grace-”
“Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes.” The old man nodded. “Yes, Your Grace.” He stumbled back into the ballroom, making a beeline for Y/N. Edmund watched from afar, smiling as she smiled, actually genuinely smiled. Then he frowned when she let him kiss her hand. Oh, how he wanted to have him banished.
Y/N made her way to the balcony, shaking her head at her proud husband. “What have you done?”
“Nothing. Why do you assume-”
“Edmund.” She crossed her arms. “You must stop.”
“What?” He laughed. “Stop protecting you?”
“Yes!” She yelled, exasperated from his constant watching eye. “I had it handled.”
“He harassed you.”
“Thank you Edmund.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm, something Edmund did not appreciate at the moment. “I wasn’t aware.”
“My love.” He stepped forward, taking her hands in his. “As long as there is air in my lungs, I will protect you. It pains me to see you go through these things.”
She smiled, placing a hand on his cheek. “You are a good man, Edmund.”
He closed his eyes, leaning into her touch. “You shouldn’t have to deal with that.”
“You’re right, I shouldn’t. But if we make a fuss about every lord who gets handsy while they’re drunk, the ballroom will be empty.”
He rolled his eyes. “Good. Get rid of the whole lot of them. I would rather it just be you and I anyhow.”
Y/N gasped, smacking his chest lightly. “Edmund!”
“No one should have to deal with that.”
“Well, I agree. But you can’t-”
“Good.” He nodded, ignoring the fact that he just interrupted her. “Who were you talking to after that incident?”
“Peter’s love.” She smiled. “That girl is quite kind. Spirited, too.”
Edmund laughed, pulling Y/N in. “Perfect for Peter then.”
She hummed, leaning her head on his chest as they looked back into the ballroom. “Perfect for Peter.”
three.
It had been Edmund’s idea to go on an afternoon ride. Y/N had reminded him of the recent attacks that they were investigating, but he’d ignored her. Their horses galloped through the fall woods, leaves falling as they flew through. Phillip muttered. “Her horse is much younger than me, no wonder she keeps beating me.”
Y/N’s horse, Vilja, laughed. “Perhaps you are simply slow, Phillip.”
Y/N fought against the laugh that threatened to spill out. “Now Vilja, play nice. Remember, Phillip has to hold Edmund and his ego.”
Edmund scoffed, shoving his wife playfully as they slowed. “What happened to playing nice?”
They tied the horses beside each other, walking through the woods leisurely. “It is perfect outside, is it not?”
Y/N nodded, leaning her head on her husband’s shoulder. “It is.” She smiled as the lantern came into view. “It’s been too long.”
Edmund hummed. “We’re happy here.” He looked down, his heart beating fast. “You would tell me if you weren't happy, I hope.”
“Of course, Edmund.” She smiled. “I'm very happy here. I only meant we’ve been here for a long time. After all, it has been thirteen years.” She looked back at the lantern, pulling Edmund along with her. “I wonder how long it’s been there.”
He laughed, kissing her temple gently. “Who cares?”
“Edmund…” She leaned into his touch. Feeling mischievous, she pulled out of his hold, sprinting further into the woods.
Edmund groaned, chasing after her. “This was funnier the first time.”
The nymphs giggled as they watched the couple run through the woods. Edmund spun in the clearing, squinting as he tried to find his wife. “Y/N, you know I’ll find-” A piercing scream broke the joyful nature of their fun, and his heart sank. “Y/N?” He waited for her response, another scream echoing through the forest. He ran towards her, unsheathing his sword. “Y/N!” He broke through the woods, finding his wife backed against a tree, a wolf growling in front of her. Edmund stood in between them, pointing the sword at the wolf’s head. “We don’t want to harm you.”
The wolf simply growled. Odd. Edmund whispered. “Stay still, my love.” He stepped forward, addressing the wolf once more. “You have one more chance to leave us. We won’t harm you if you do so, you have my word.”
The wolf leaned back, lunging at Edmund, and he slashed his sword, killing the animal in a single blow. Y/N stood silent behind him, staring at the ground. “I thought all animals spoke in Narnia.”
“So did I.” Edmund knelt beside it, checking for any witchcraft of any sort.
Y/N smiled sympathetically, kneeling beside him. “She’s gone.”
“He was wild. There had to have been-” Edmund was silenced by a gentle kiss. He blushed. “What was that-” She kissed him once more, smiling.
“Edmund, she is gone. For good. And you saved me.” She mumbled. “Even though I could have reached for my sword-”
He rolled his eyes, standing up and extending his hand. “Let me guess? You had it handled?”
four.
She was radiant in that blue dress, Edmund observed from afar. After he had expressed his love of her in the color, she had ensured that almost all her dresses were that light blue. The rest of her dresses were her favorite color, which Edmund loved on her almost as much.
Unfortunately, others enjoyed looking at his wife as well. Lately, in Edmund’s opinion, her sworn guard had been looking at her for much too long. He was a conventionally attractive man, Edmund could admit, but he didn’t like that the young knight was looking at his wife the way Edmund himself looked at her.
He hadn’t brought it up to Y/N, not wanting to be called overprotective for the hundredth time. So he watched from afar, making sure that the knight didn’t make any untoward actions towards her.
They were currently in the garden, and Y/N was smelling the flowers, laughing and making polite conversation with Ser Ellington. The young man laughed back, reaching out to stable her when she stumbled over a root. Edmund clenched his jaw, forcing himself to remain calm.
It was his job after all, to make sure his queen was safe.
But when he reached out and grabbed a flower, extending it to the kind woman, Edmund snapped. That was not his job. He practically stalked forward, interrupting whatever conversation the two had been having. “My love.” He called out. “You look radiant.”
She blushed. “Edmund, I thought you had your meeting.”
He nodded. “I did, but we finished early, I thought I would accompany you for the rest of the day.”
“Of course.” She looked over Edmund’s shoulder at Ser Ellington. “You are excused for the day. Thank you, Ser.”
The knight bowed. “My Queen. Your Grace.”
Edmund watched suspiciously as the young knight walked away, only turning back to his wife when he turned the corner. Y/N smirked, tilting her head just so. “You have no need to be jealous, my love.” She turned back to the flowers, smelling them.
Edmund smiled guiltily, following after her like a puppy. “Can you blame me? Ser Ellington is not exactly unappealing.”
She nodded, still not looking back at him. “He is. But I am not married to him, nor do I sleep in the same bed as him every night.” Edmund turned bright red. “Am I wrong?”
“You are not, but you have to understand. You’re a beautiful woman, I can’t help but worry that someone will steal you away.”
She rolled her eyes, turning around. “Do you really think I would hurt you so?”
“No-”
“What have I done to make you assume so? I love you; I made a vow to you.” She crossed her arms. “Am I just a prize to you that you desperately need to cling to?”
“Of course not.” He grabbed her hands in his. “I’m madly in love with you, and the thought of you leaving me, the simple thought…” He pulled her closer, whispering. “Drives me mad.”
“Edmund.” She glared, pulling out of his hold. “You are exaggerating.”
He grabbed her wrist, pulling her gently back to him. “Do you really think I do not love you?”
“I never said that.”
He laughed. “You act as if we were not a love match. Like we didn’t discover Narnia together. I love you; I think I have since we were young.” He kissed the back of her hand delicately. “I know that I am too overprotective, and I am sorry for that…”
She smirked with satisfaction. “Good.”
“But can you blame me? You are a treasure, surely any other man would act that same way.”
Y/N nodded. “Perhaps. But you are not any other man. You are Edmund Pevensie, and I know you know deep down that I can handle myself. I do not need you to watch over me like a mother hen.” She raised an eyebrow. “I also fought the White Witch, I also helped you form peace treaties, I also-”
Y/N stopped, becoming more irritable by the second when she realized Edmund wasn’t listening. He stared at her so lovingly it made her sick, and she scoffed. “I am going to the library.”
He nodded, following after. “I shall accompany you.”
She shook her head. “I would like to go alone.”
He frowned. “Are you-”
“Edmund, please.” She sighed. “I love you, but I need to be alone with my thoughts.” Without a second glance, she walked out of the garden, leaving Edmund helplessly staring at her.
the time she proved him wrong
They had been gone for too long, Y/N thought as she stared at the woods. They had been gone for hours longer than they said they would. She should have gone with them; who knows where they were, where Edmund was.
She tried to calm herself down and reminded herself that neither Edmund nor his siblings would leave her in Narnia alone, but it was difficult when all of the hunt’s participants were speaking to her at once.
“Where are they?” Lord Eluna’s voice sounded over the rest. She tried not to glare at him; she could tell the man was enjoying the sight of her under pressure.
“I understand everyone’s worries; I have them myself, but we all know that the Kings and Queens would never leave their subjects so suddenly. Have no doubt that they will return. I am certain High King Peter and King Edmund dragged their sisters along a trail of the deer’s tracks.” Light laughter echoed through the crowd, relieving her stress slightly. Her stomach fluttered, and she pressed a hand to it, rubbing it slightly. “Does anyone else have any immediate causes for concern?”
The crowd erupted into chaos once more, and she took a deep breath, clearing her throat. “I will take meetings with all of you individually in the main tent.”
meanwhile...
Edmund sighed, staring at his older brother as he tried to convince himself the deer was nearby. “Peter, we’ve been gone for hours. If we haven’t found the deer by now, who’s to say we’ll find it later?” He practically pleaded. “We should return to camp.”
Peter rolled his eyes. “Just because you want to get back to your wife-”
“Peter, Edmund’s right.” Susan interrupted. “This deer isn’t important, and Y/N is there alone with the entirety of the court.” She frowned. “If it were me, I would be rather overwhelmed.”
Edmund fell into his thoughts, staring at the ground. Lucy whispered, nudging her brother lightly. “Edmund, don’t-”
Edmund tightened the reigns on Phillip, racing back towards the camp. Peter sighed, riding not far behind him. The dark-haired king didn’t look back; his only thought was that he had left Y/N alone with the egotistical lords of the realm. Phillip slowed, and Edmund jumped off, running towards camp.
Everything was fine, almost too fine. It was quiet, with a slight buzz of chatter but no worried voices. He stalked toward the main tent, whipping it open.
There sat his radiant wife, talking calmly with Lord Dolitmov. The older man saw Edmund and immediately stood, bowing. “Your Grace.” He looked back to Y/N, kissing the back of the queen’s hand gently. “Your Grace.”
Y/N smiled, waving as he walked out of the tent. Edmund tilted his head, smiling. “What happened?”
She laughed. "The better question would be, what happened with you?” She hugged herself, rubbing her stomach once more. Edmund made a mental note to address that later. “You were gone for so long I assumed you had returned home.”
He shook his head, frowning as he realized how stressed she had been. “I’m sorry for the worry we caused you; I fear Peter was too fixated on finding the white steed.”
She nodded. “I wondered.”
He took her hand in his, rubbing the back with his thumb. “I’m sorry that I worried you. But I must say, it is rather calm here.”
She smirked. “I told you I can handle myself.”
He laughed. “I believe you. Truly I do.” he brought her hand to his mouth, kissing the back gently. “I love you.”
“And I you.” She walked into his arms, burying her head in his chest. “I would have died from heartbreak if you had left me.”
“I would never.” He kissed her temple. “You know that.”
She nodded. “I know you would never leave us.
He nodded back. “Correct. I would never leave-” He paused, tilting his head. “Us?”
Y/N looked up sheepishly. “I-” Her eyes started to water. “I’m pregnant, Edmund.”
“What?” Edmund grinned, staring at his wife in disbelief. “Really?”
She nodded, and Edmund grabbed her waist, spinning her around the room. Y/N cackled, smacking his shoulder. “Put me down; you’re going to hurt the babe.”
“I’m sorry.” He smiled. “I can’t help it.”
She laughed, kissing his lips softly. “I love you.”
Edmund leaned down, kissing her soundly. “And I you.”

Letters and Lust
Edmund Pevensie x Reader
-
Requested by @potatosdragon (hope it’s to your liking!)
‘Hi again,
I really liked the writing you made with my idea, and I just thought of another one and had to send it to you.
So it's Edmund Pevensie again
And the reader has been sent to a boarding school so the writing would be letters sent between the reader and ed. Maybe he sends her a scandalous one and the teachers find it.
It might be a bit vague so I would totally understand if you don't want to write it but I just needed to see if you would.
Thank you so much’

Y/N- Your Name
L/N- Last Name
Y/H- Your Hometown/Home-Country
Y/n/N- Your Nickname

There is no mention of Narnia, so the fic can either be taken as taking place in a non-Narnia world, or just that the sex and the letters are more important than ruminating on the left-behind fantasy world 🤷♀️

Warning : smut, explicit language, charming-and-sweet-boyfriend!Edmund
----------------------------------------------------------
Mareafe Academy
6th September, 1944
Dearest Edmund,
I have literally just sat down on the bed in my dormitory, and the FIRST thing I did was pull out a piece of paper and a pen so I could write to you. And, alright, perhaps I also arranged my novels in the little bedside table I have.
I’m early, and my dorm-mates haven’t arrived yet, so I can write in peace and solitude, too- shucks, I won’t be having much of that anymore, will I? It hasn’t even been twenty minutes in the boarding school yet, but I already really miss day school. However DO you manage at boarding school??? And you’ve been studying at one since you were eleven!
I miss you, Ed. I miss your freckles. I miss you holding my hand. I miss zoning out of the conversation when you talk about chess. I miss you not even realising that I’ve zoned out.
I wish my parents weren’t going away to Y/H for the rest of the year- yes, I will miss them, too- and I wish that St. Finbar’s had a vacancy so I could have attended then, because I would have been close to you throughout the year then. I really thought that’s how it would happen- that once school started again, you’d be going to Hendon, and I’d be going to St. Finbar’s, and we’d be close-by, like always. I mean, the last couple of years, we were together all the time, because the war had closed the schools down.
I love you. Chess-obsessed idiot you are, but I love you so much. Alright, you’re not an idiot, you’re the smartest person I know, but still. Your cheeks get so red when I call you an idiot.
I have to go, I can hear footsteps coming to this room. You know what that means- people. Ugh. I do not like people.
I’ll post this when I get time, and you BEST write me back as soon as possible! Bye-bye, darling.
Love, Y/N
Y/N stared at the letter after she capped her pen, and continued staring at it even as the noise of chattering and laughter filled the room.
She finally stopped staring once one of the girls approached the bed she was sitting on, with a welcoming smile- probably one of the old students- and she put down the letter. As she sat up and readied herself to stand up, and- regrettably- socialise, her eyes fell on the letter one last time.
‘Dearest Edmund’ were the two words she managed to read, and she smiled to herself.
--
The day after that, Y/N hurried to the telephone room during the break, after the classes of the day and before the prep-time of the evening. Her hurrying was because the monitor of her form had come by her solitary armchair, where she’d been reading the newest Nancy Drew, and informed her that her mother was calling.
“Hello, M-?”
“Don’t finish the word, darling, I’m not your Mum.” Came the lovely voice of her even lovelier boyfriend, Edmund Pevensie. “Did I get the routine right? It’s your break now, yeah?”
“Yes- it is-” Y/N had sent him her class-routine along with the letter, “but- I thought- the monitor said that-”
“Oh, I just put Susan on the telephone for that.” He chuckled. “She sounds very much like a priggish old lady.”
Y/N snorted, after which he continued, sounding a bit nervous, “Wasn’t sure how receptive a teacher or monitor would be to a young man calling and asking for the prettiest person in school.”
Her cheeks were already scarlet, “Ed, you haven’t even seen the others in the school.”
“And I don’t need to.”
“You charmer, you.” Y/N spoke, toying the telephone wire around her fingers. Then her voice softened, dropping to a whisper, “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” His voice softened, as well, and she could imagine the tenderness in his chocolate brown perfectly. “I miss you, Y/n/N.”
“Me too- and the fact that I probably won’t see you until Easter break-” her parents would be returning to Finchley then, “which is SEVEN MONTHS FROM NOW, is just torture.”
“I couldn’t agree more. The moment I’ve enough money, I’m coming up there and we’re spending the weekend at some cosy inn.”
Her blush deepened, and- oh, how she wanted to kiss him. And more. Oh, she truly wanted that inn-weekend immediately.
Still, she spoke teasingly, “I think the Headmistress might have some problems with you whisking away one of her students for the entire weekend.”
“What can educational administrators or institutions do when it comes to true love?” Edmund spoke dramatically to his girlfriend, and Y/N- giggling again- could visualise him having his hand on his heart. “Oh, I did love the birthday gift by the way, my last suspenders were hand-me-downs. But why-”
“Because-” Y/N’s voice lowered again, but it wasn’t so much as it was sultry, “I like to hold them and tug at them when I’m on top of you, and honestly, with the state the last ones were in, I was afraid they’d tear the moment I touched them.”
She glanced at the door of the tiny telephone room, just to make sure there was privacy- before turning back to the telephone.
“And- your suspenders aren’t the only thing I want to tear off you, you know.”
She heard a gulp on the other end, and then Edmund’s hoarse voice speak, “What I would give to be back to the ninth of August- and the twelfth- and the sixteenth- and the twenty-third- and the twenty-fifth- and the twenty-sixth- and the thirty-first- and the first two days of September.”
Visions of Edmund, his pale, freckled body under her, on top of her, beside her, kissing her, touching her, licking her, fucking her- made their way immediately into Y/N’s mind, and she clenched the telephone receiver tight.
They weren’t visions, they were memories, and she pushed her legs pressed together.
“I can’t believe you remember all the days.”
“I can’t believe we had less than a month of it.” He whispered back, huskily, and Y/N licked her lips. “Oh, Y/n/N-”
“If you keep calling me that, I will run back to Finchley and have-” oh, she couldn’t say the word, she didn’t know if the walls were soundproof!, “and read with you in front of your entire family.”
“Read?” Oh, she just knew that Edmund was smirking. “Read what?”
“Everything you can imagine.” Oh, she could be husky and seductive, too! “Everything you want.”
“Everything we want.” He corrected immediately, and Y/N could no longer ignore how wet she was. “I- oh, goodness gracious, I need to have a cold shower now.”
“I need to have you, but I’ll have to settle for a shower, too.” She just hoped none of her dorm-mates asked why she was having a shower at such an odd time. “I should go, prep-time is about to start. Call me earlier next time, my love.”
“Okay, will do.” Edmund promised. He’d call her all the time- it was the only way for her to be in his life for the next seven months. Well, that, and letters. Yes, letters... He could make good use of those, too. He really would miss his girlfriend terribly. “I love you, Y/n/N.”
Y/N sighed, and rested her head against the wall- wishing it was her boyfriend’s shoulder instead. As if it wasn’t bad enough that she missed her family- missed home- she had to miss the love of her life, too.
“And I love you, Edmund.”

Edmund was not at school. He was grateful for that- though, not as much as Peter or Susan were, and more than Lucy was- for he quite enjoyed the time at home, with his family. He didn’t mind school, generally, for he liked to read, and learn, and he did well in tests- but who could pick school over home?
Certainly not he.
Regardless of his gratitude for not being at school, he did regret that he was at home- because of Y/N. It was entirely unjust that she was stuck there, in some boarding school she had never been to, with her family travelling away for some urgent emergency, away from her home, whilst he was at home and with his family.
He wished he could go to her- he badly wanted to see her, be with her. Just for half a day, even. He was intending to, and had even started planning to go there for Christmas, but his parents had informed them that their grandparents were coming to stay Christmas week- which effectively poured water on his half-formed plans.
All they had now was letters. Not even telephone calls- at least for the present, for the old telephones had been removed, and new ones were being put in, and Y/N had said that she didn’t know how long it would take in her last letter. There was only one working telephone in the entire school, the Headmistress’s, and, as his dear girlfriend had said, “I don’t think she’ll be very keen to let me use it so I can hear sweet nothings from my boyfriend.”
Edmund was making the most of the letters.
Several of the ones he’d written were humorous- even if he did say so himself, droll, and loving, chronicling the things that had been happening at home and with him, as well as asking Y/N what was happening with her and showing sympathy for her ‘incarceration’ (as she put it in one of her letters) in school.
-
My cousin, Eustace, came over with his parents for Dad’s birthday. You’ve met him, the shrill kid with the eyebrows, and the terrible name- Eustace Clarence Scrubb? Anyway, they were to stay the entire weekend, which everyone- including them- were very annoyed about, but we all had decided to take it as much in stride as possible. But Eustace is just so annoying, and he was driving us four MAD the entire day- to show how much, even LUCY asked for him to shut up. Well, she said ‘please, be quiet, I have a headache’, but that’s ‘shut the bloody hell up!’ for her.
At any rate, he was driving us crazy. I told you he has a fixation with entomology- insects- and he brought his whole kit and collection of insects with him. Can’t part with it, apparently, since he’s observing some live specimens to note down some specifics about them that he feels the entomology books got wrong.
We (Peter and I, since Eustace is sharing our room) let those live specimens free. Freedom is extremely important, I know you agree, my darling.
In the morning, Susan- with such a smile on her face she resembled the Cheshire Cat- said that Eustace had demanded to go home, and so our aunt, uncle, and cousin were to leave for Cambridge after lunch by train.
And it’s only Saturday! HA.
-
It is unfair, Y/n/N, far too unfair that you’re in school, while most of the country isn’t! It should be a law that each educational institution should open and close at the exact same times, and that there should be the same number of hols- otherwise, it’s just bloody unjust. If I wasn’t already sure that I want to be a lawyer, this would have made it CERTAIN for me.
You deserve better, my love. Especially since you hate school so much. If I could swap places with you, I would. I’d look very pretty in a skirt and your school’s uniform, don’t you think?
-
Did you read the new Hardy Boys? The Melted Coins? Frankly, I’ve been enjoying Nancy Drew more than the last couple of Hardy Boys- is just me? I prefer mysteries related not to treasure nowadays, I feel. Buried treasure just feels far too overused.
-
But several were- they were not humorous and sympathetic and bibliophilic as much as they were libidinous.
Edmund wrote those letters late at night, when his brother was fast asleep and snoring. He was a night owl, thankfully- though, not as much as Y/N, whose sleeping schedule was more vampiric than human. He’d write the letters, burning the midnight oil, blush quite brilliantly at the contents of what he’d written as well as the images of his beautiful girl from that his mind came up with, and then he would go and post the letters the next morning.
-
Darling, you know I think a lot, but you know what I think the most about?
You. Always you. Your smile, your eyes, your eyebrows, the nose I love to kiss, the curve of your lips, and your hips. How I hold them when you take me inside you. The way your eyes flutter when I flick your nipples, how your mouth opens whenever I lick at your sex.
How incandescent you look during and after sex, on top of me or under, your body pressed hard against me. How your lips call my name, how my name sounds in your voice. We had so few moments where we could do all that- but we really made the most of it, and I’m endlessly grateful. And we’ll see each other very soon, and I SWEAR all our fantasies will be indulged.
You make me tremble, and you leave me breathless, especially when I look at your face flushed with ecstasy and when I hold you in my arms while making love. And I love you so much in those moments, as I love you in every moment I live.
-
I miss your tits. Your lovely, large, lovely tits. I miss how you giggled when I kissed them. I miss all of you.
-
Do you know I have to keep taking showers more than once every day? Every time I think of you, I just get so hard and I need to get myself off, after which I need to clean up- consequently showers.
Your last letter, about the- about the swimsuit and the swimming exhibitionism thing- I don’t think I’ve ever come so hard from getting myself off. If it’s your hands or mouth, yes, but not from my own hands.
I want that, too. You know that. I want all of that, so BADLY. Sometimes I’ll wander down some alleyways, the ones that are shortcuts, and I’ll think of pushing you against a wall and fucking you then and there. I think of you wearing those sexy knee-socks as you spread yourself on the bed. I’ll think of how bright your eyes get when I enter you, and-
Fuck, I’m hard again. Bloody hell, Y/n/N, I’ve already showered twice today! I’m going to die of a cold, at this rate.
-
Chocolate is my favourite taste. I adore chocolate, and I’d probably eat the floor if it was made of it. I mean, no offence to those five kids, but I should have gotten a Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
But I adore tasting you, too. I love you writhing under me, as I kiss along your thighs, and I love you pulling my hair when I finally have my tongue inside you. I adore everything about you, every single thing- but, gosh, your taste. You taste like oranges, and I drink your essence like I’ve been thirsty for centuries. I’m a rational person, easily the wisest in my family- not that that’s a difficult achievement- but you, Y/n/N, you drive me wild.
-
I want you to fuck me. I want you kneeling in front of me, your mouth around me, sucking me harder and faster. I want you to make me moan your name over and over and over until you unravel me completely. I want to give you hickeys everywhere. I want to be yours. I want to be inside you again. I want you.
-
Y/N’s replies would come the very next day, and he would lock himself in the bathroom whenever he read them.
Her replies were even more explicit and- as she had herself said in a telephone call- more unhinged than his.
-
Every night before I sleep, I masturbate. I close my eyes, fix my blanket, and then I touch myself. I touch myself, and I think of how you hold me. I touch myself, and I think how you kiss me. I touch myself, and I think of how you lick my breasts, how you suck at my clit. I touch myself, and my body shakes, and I think of how you fuck me. I come, somehow, my hips lifting, and I think of you and only you, my dearest.
Then I go to the bathroom to pee and wash my hands, and then, just as I’m about to fall asleep, I think of you again.
I turn, shoving my face into my pillow, and I fuck myself again, all the while wishing it was your fingers and your mouth and your cock inside me instead.
-
I drew you naked in class today. I spent a lot of time on your fingers. And your freckles. I really, truly, madly love your freckles. I love that I’ve kissed all of them, all over your body. Even the ones on your cock. I love them. I love you.
-
Was down swimming today- it’s cold weather usually, but somehow it was pretty warm today. I was really glad, and the MOMENT we finished breakfast, I ran to get my swimsuit and went to the pool. I mean, I didn’t run, I definitely never run, but I did walk very fast.
So I went to the pool, wearing my swimsuit and a bathrobe over it, and as I was taking it off, I wished you were there. I wanted you to watch me. I wanted to take off my robe, and my swimsuit, and I wanted you to see me, your pretty eyes going dark as I get naked. And I wanted you to take off whatever you were wearing, too- hopefully suspenders. I love you wearing suspenders, and I love to drag them off you. Obviously, I’d be watching you as well, because how can I ever NOT look at you?
And then I wanted to make love with you then and there. Outside, in public, uncaring of whether anyone could see. I still want it.
Writing this down, I’m throbbing again. I can smell how wet I am, goodness.
-
I might kill someone if I don’t get you inside my cunt right NOW.
P.S. (adding this in the morning), I didn’t kill anyone. A lot of people at school make me murderous, but I’ve had self-control so far.
I have, however, put a photograph of myself in this letter, one that I’m sure you’ll like. I’m not as adept a photographer as you- you know how much I fidget- but, again, I think you’ll like it. And I hope, love, that you’ll send me one in reply, too- only if you want to.
I love you. And enjoy my tits. Let me know what effect they have on you.
--
“Post’s here early!” One of Y/N’s classmates called out- she had just stood up to leave the Dining Hall, and had seen the postman walk across the doorway at the far end of it. “Oh, hope Mum got me the hair-band I fancied!”
As her friend pulled her down to the seat, teasing her in whispers that she needed a few dozen hair-bands to keep her flyaway hair in control, Y/N stood up.
She never ate much in the mornings, anyway- if it wasn’t compulsory, she would absolutely have skipped breakfast every day, waking up exactly six minutes before classes started. And now that mail was here early, she would go and see if she had letters- she usually had one from Edmund every other day, and one from her family every week, as well as occasional letters from some other friends she had left behind. There were, though, also many days that she did not have letters.
Today was not one of those days.
Recognising Edmund’s signature on the back of the envelope, Y/N snatched it from the tray of letters, and grinned hugely. She grinned so widely, in fact, that a group of first-formers heading her way saw her and ran away in the opposite direction.
She usually opened letters from her darling boyfriend in private, since their letters were private, and- more often than not- intimate. Today, though, she lacked the patience and ripped it open as soon as she reached the- thankfully empty, since most of the school was still at breakfast- entrance hall of Mareafe Academy.
Her fingers felt the texture of the letter’s paper- but along with it, they felt a much smoother, cooler surface. She pulled both out immediately- she was a curious creature, and then Y/N almost dropped the envelope.
She wasn’t just curious. She was forgetful as well, and she’d forgotten what she’d sent along with her last letter. And that she’d added a request, of sorts, for a similar response.
And she had got it.
It was a photograph of Edmund. He’d clearly taken it himself, from the angle- and another, far more clearer thing, was that he was naked. He was utterly, completely naked, from head to thigh- that was as much was there in the picture. Oh, and his thighs- what lay in between them- Y/N licked her lips.
Almost immediately, she bit her bottom lip to keep from accidentally moaning, and then Y/N hurried to the staircase that led up to the dormitories to sit down on the fifth step. Setting down the letter and the envelope on the sixth step- yes, yes, she would read it in a second, she desperately wanted to read what Edmund wrote, but she just needed to admire the gorgeous being that the love of her life was- she looked at the photograph even longer. Her eyes danced around to his pale and lithe form, to the flat of his abs that she’d press her palms against sometimes, to different spots of him she’d sucked, to all the starry freckles she had kissed, to his lovely lips that gave her kisses that brought her both calm and passion, and to all the parts of him that she adored.
She would absolutely be missing her first class, so she could take advantage of an empty dormitory- she would look at the photograph, and then she would mas-
“Child, is this yours?” Came a voice- and then, immediately, a hand bent down to pick up the letter and the envelope carelessly left on the stair.
Y/N turned, in panic and horror and so many other unpleasant, cardiac-arrest-reminiscent symptoms- but the damage was done. The form-mistress for the first form, as well as the House-Mistress for the school House she was in, Ms. Potts, had her hands on her letter.
And her eyes were on the letter- growing wider and wider and wider and wider with every passing second.
“What,” Ms. Potts said, her lips pursed so tightly together they seemed conjoined, and her fair cheeks turning a blotchy red, “is this abhorrent, shocking, and vile thing sent to you?”
Oh, Heavens. Had Edmund written about how much he liked to have her sit stop his face? Or perhaps some details about how she sucked his cock.
Y/N did not say anything, because she felt petrified. Mortified. She had wished for death before, but she didn’t think she’d ever wished it quite so keenly and desperately. She’d take anything! Couldn’t those air raids start again!? Just for the day?!
There used to be a chandelier in the entrance hall- it had been removed as the war had begun. She wished it was still there, so it could fall on her.
Ms. Potts shook in rage for a few more moments, apparently as unable as Y/N was of coherent speak- before spotting something in the student’s hand.
“What is that?” She asked, her gaze fixed on the photograph of Edmund. “Was that with his letter?”
“No.” The lie was immediate, and convincing. Talking, she was not very good at, but lie she could very well. “It’s a photograph of- of the tulip-bushes at our house in Finchley, ma’am. My parents asked a neighbour with green thumbs to look after the bushes, so they’ve bloomed again despite the house being empty-”
“Is that so?” The teacher cut off the narration, looking unimpressed. At least the splotches of red were lessening now, Y/N thought. “Let me see it, then, give it-”
“No!” Oh, she could have her letter, but she would not give away a photograph of Edmund naked! He’d trusted her with it, and she would DIE before letting a stranger see it. No one ever deserved to have their personal anecdotes or their personal photographs or documents be circulated to or by those who were never intended to see them. “Sorry, Ms. Potts, but it’s my photograph.”
“Hm, of course. Privacy is important.” Ms. Potts nodded, seemingly backing down. “But so is decency, Ms. L/N, and the things written in this letter-”
“I haven’t read the letter, ma’am.” Y/N said, because what else could she say? She didn’t know! She still felt like she was having a heart attack, and she was anxious about whether the hospital- oh, anxiety. She felt anxiety, and if Ms. Potts didn’t give her back her belongings, she may devolve into a full-blown panic attack. “I don’t know what it says. I’m not even sure whom it’s from-”
“Says it is from your devoted and dearest Edmund’.” Her lip curled, and Y/N couldn’t be sure if that was a hint of humour or hatred. She could be sure, though, that she wanted the floor to open up and swallow her whole. Or at least transport her to somewhere far, far away, somewhere that was preferably known as ’Edmund’s arms’. “I thought such adoring signatures died out after the Georgian era.”
“I always thought that such signatures existed only in books.” The girl gave a shrug- not a nonchalant one, though that was the effect she was trying to convey. “Maybe- maybe that’s what this is, Ms. Potts, someone having transcribed a letter from a novel and sent it to me-”
“Admirable attempt at lying, L/N, but the lie only makes things worse. Mareafe Academy does not condone lying, cheating, or-” Ms. Potts looked down at the letter again, and the splotches reappeared, “such disgusting sentiments being written to the young women of tomorrow!”
“Oh, but- but, Ms. Potts-”
Why wasn’t there a dragon here? Either she could ride away on it, or it could eat her. Either way, her problem would be solved
Oh, she so hated to exist in a world of reality.
“And, according to devoted and dearest Edmund,” The teacher’s voice dripped with sarcasm, and it didn’t sound nearly as attractive as Edmund’s sarcasm did, “you were the one who asked to be sent such uncouth correspondence.”
Well, what was she to do now? Throw Edmund under the bus and keep him safe, or tell the truth and secure expulsion?
She couldn’t do either of that. She would protect Edmund and she would make sure her parents did not have to feel the shame of a child expelled from school.
What excuse could she give...
“I’m a writer.” Y/N said suddenly, before glancing down at the letter again- as soon as Ms. Potts lost focus on it, she’d grab it back. “I asked a friend of mine to help me with certain- salacious parts of the novel I’m working.”
Ms. Potts gave her a look, “Are you planning to become the female D. H. Lawrence, Ms. L/N? Need I remind you, most of his books were banned because of their- their inappropriate content.”
“And now he’s one of the most famous writers of the century.” Y/N pointed out. “I- I think that counts as a win.”
Ms. Potts rolled her eyes, “Would you like me to take this letter to the Headmistress? Perhaps she’ll motivate you with suspension to show her the photograph-”
“No!” She burst out again, shifting her weight from one leg to another, that was how nervous she was. She kept teetering-tottering. Edmund’s photograph would ensure expulsion.
Oh, why was this happening!? Wasn’t it bad enough that she’d had to wake up early for breakfast- even earlier than usual, because her dorm-mate had pulled the curtains back to let in the rare sunshine!? Waking up was awful enough!
“No- please, Ms. Potts, I don’t- I’m so- I’m sorry. I- promise that- that I won’t ask for such-” loving, “vile letters anymore. Please, I’m so very sorry, ma’am-”
“Alright, child. Calm yourself.” She sighed. Generally, she would have taken the student and the letter to the Headmistress, for its contents were that questionable- but she had a soft heart when she hadn’t had her morning coffee. And- well, she knew the girl was having a hard time with her parents so far away, and- and, between the inappropriate things, she could read the love that seeped out from every word. Edmund truly loved Y/N, despite the disgusting things he did to her and she did to him. “No supper for you for the rest of the week, L/N. Your suppertime will be devoted to extra prep time, and you’ll have two slices of toast and a glass of water before you head to bed.”
“Okay.”
At least it wasn’t expulsion- and she’d just spend the prep time daydreaming about Edmund. About the food, though- she usually was very hungry at dinner, but she’d have to make do.
“Thank you so much, ma’am- and, again, I- I am so- so sorry.”
“Hmph.” She made a sound to acknowledge the apology, and then held out the letter. “I’ll be reading the rest of your letters from this Edmund from now on.”
She nodded quickly.
“Now go put it somewhere private, I will come check in five-” after she had her coffee, “and for the Lord’s sake, get to class on time!”
She nodded again, grabbing the letter and the envelope, before running straight to her thankfully empty dormitory.
She had intended on locking the door, undressing- at least part-way- and then fingering herself until she came, while looking at Edmund’s photograph and/or reading his letter.
Y/N still wanted to do that, she thought, as she sank onto her bed. She wanted to do it even more, in fact, because now she had his letter, and she was reading all the beautifully dirty things Edmund wanted her to do to him or wanted to do to her- but she would refrain. Her sex was throbbing and her mouth was dry, but Ms. Potts would be up any second, and if she walked in on her masturbating- well, there would be no hope for her at ALL then.
For once, she would have self-control when it came to Edmund.
“Oh, darling.” She said, falling back on the bed and letting out a very long sigh. She wanted to go back to sleep. “Our fucking has fucked things up.”
--
Two months later:
“Yes, fuck, ah-ah, yes-” Y/N moaned, one of her hands gripping the bark of the tree she was pressed up against, while the other fisted itself firmly into Edmund’s hair, pushing his head further between her thighs.
They were in a clearing in the woods behind school- not too far in that they’d get lost, and yet not too near the entrance that they’d be seen by someone from her school. It was parents’ weekend- and, in place of her parents, Edmund had come to visit. Ms. Potts had enquired if she would be alone the weekend, and Y/N had lied that her uncle and aunt would be coming to take her for the two days- and the moment that Ms. Potts had turned around, she’d grabbed her little case and run outside. Thankfully, in all the crowd of cars and people outside the school, no one had noticed that the person she was hugging was a boy her own age, or that the hug was decidedly not platonic.
After they’d escaped the school, Y/N had said something that they couldn’t enjoy themselves in a pool- sand then Edmund had completed her sentence by saying that at least they could have some pretty good fun in the woods.
Edmund had taken up a paper route the last few months, and had done some odd jobs around the neighbourhood- and Y/N had made some money by tutoring some first-years, too. She’d begun the tutoring as a way to lessen Potts’s suspicion- but it had had a monetary advantage, too. Pooling their money together, they’d managed to afford one night at a nearby bed-and-breakfast, and they had both been so excited, Edmund had got on the wrong train- he’d realised just before it had started- and Y/N had buttered her hair, instead of her toast.
Edmund dug his fingers into her leg that was thrown over his shoulders, his tongue licking a path along her sex, and he felt a deep tightening in the pit of his stomach. He was already pleasured and sated- the moment he had arrived at the school gate, and had seen her run towards him, after which she’d thrown her arms around him, he’d been utterly content. He was even more so now. He had missed her so much.
He reached up blindly- but he was so familiar with her body, that he found her bare breast at the first try, cupping it hard as he began to suck at her clit.
“Come on, Y/n/N. Say my name.” Edmund grinned wolfishly, as a muffled sigh left her lips. “Moan if you missed me, darling.”
And she did.
This was exactly- exactly- what she needed. What both of them did. What they’d needed and wanted for so long. How utterly she had missed him.
And, considering that they’d only had sex for about ten days back in August, it was truly astonishing how well he knew her body. He really was a fast learner.
He knew it so well that she just could not keep her mouth shut, though she knew she couldn’t be too loud, “Fuck, Edmund-”
Then his fingers joined, too, inching closer to her clit, making her gasp and shiver and doubling the building ecstasy.
Needless to say, it took hardly a couple of minutes for Y/N to reach her zenith, her body relaxing as she came.
“No, no, no.” She said, a moment after her breathing eased- Edmund was looking around for their long-discarded shirts, his suspenders (which looked even sexier than usual, perhaps because she was seeing him for the first time in months), and her skirt.
Her boyfriend looked at her inquiringly- good Heavens, he was licking his lips, she might orgasm just looking at that.
She pulled her knickers up and debated on putting on her bra- she was trying to wear them more often, despite how much she disliked them, because she’d heard a sixth-former whisper in the pool that wearing bras helped with back pain.
And she had a lot of back pain.
But she decided against it. A few more minutes wouldn’t make her back hurt even more.
“Come a little closer?”
Edmund obeyed, but still looked blank. He was perfectly content to just look at her- after months of just letters, most of which had been censored and sanitised after a point- he just wanted to gaze at her.
“Why, Y/n/N?” He asked, and was answered by Y/N kneeling, pulling his trousers down, and wrapping her mouth around him in one fluid moment. He started violently, quite staggered by the action, and drew a sharp gasp of a breath. “G-give a fellow some warning, darling.”
“As though you didn’t know-” She pulled away from his cock for just a moment to smile at him- going down on her had hardened him, which meant he was already close, “that I wouldn’t let you go without returning the favour. It’s been too long, love.”
“I- forgot.” His lashes fluttered, his breath coming in short bursts as she started to take him in her mouth again, her head bobbing up and down between his legs. “S- ach, Y/n/N-” she sped up the work of her tongue- harder, faster- and he had to bite down on his bottom lip to hold back a moan, “silly me.”
She sucked for a few, slow moments- not enough to make him come, but enough to make him tremble and moan her name- and she could feel herself throb again, because it wasn’t inside her mouth that she needed him.
But she’d contentedly settle for this for the moment- it was Edmund, she liked doing almost everything with him.
Carefully, she pulled her mouth away from him- and asked softly, “Do you like this, my love? Do you like my mouth around you, as I kneel for you? As I put my tongue on your cock?”
Before he could reply, she bent forward again and trailed her lips all over his length, sometimes darting her tongue out to lick a freckle or sensitive spot- and then began to suck once more.
Minutes later, as the birds chirped in the trees, they lay on the warm grass. They held hands as Edmund slid inside Y/N, into the togetherness and oneness they’d had too little of and they had missed for months.
The sun scattered through the canopy of trees, falling onto their bodies, which flushed and naked and tight together. Their lips were pressed together, too.
And when they came together, they whispered both I love you and I missed you.
After that, lying naked on the warm grass and in each other’s arms, they made fun of other people- specifically, teachers- and teased each other- both verbal and sexual, and bantered, all interspersed with a lot of kissing. There was a small picnic basket lying a few feet from them, as well.
It was going to be an amazing weekend.

summary. headcanons of your relationship with edmund pevensie while dating. (gn reader)
— straight up fluff, nothing else. PART 1/?
— Edmund leaves little notes everywhere. In the pages of your books, the pockets of your pants, etc. Usually they just consist of sweet words and reminders to eat and take care of yourself as a much needed endorphin boost. He always makes sure to fill up the entire piece of paper, front and back until there's no space to write any more loving words. — Random "I love you"s throughout the day for no particular reason. — Playful arguments over the most miniscule things, I mean seriously, the two of you bicker like a married couple. Edmund can be quite argumentative, but not in the way you expect. No, usually you quarrel over the correct way to toast a piece of bread, topics such as that. None of it is serious of course, nine times out of ten it turns into a tickle fight that ends with a cuddle session anyway. — Edmund naturally smiles excessively around you. He doesn't really think about it, it just happens. Like this guy literally GLOWS when he sees you, it's not even funny. When you look at him, he smiles. When you rant, he smiles. When you talk about your interests, he smiles. No matter where the two of you are and what you're doing, he's always grinning around you, both of you in your own world. — Even though Edmund is one of the most renowned swordsman in Narnia, that doesn't mean he's immune to the occasional injury. And so, you have to tend to his wounds quite often. Sometimes you end up scolding him if the wound was the result of reckless actions and impulsive behavior, and yes he appreciates the concern, but he just thinks it's cute how your lips form into a pout whenever he comes back with a new injury to tend to. He adores how much you care for him, even if it's just through small actions. — Absolute SUCKER for when you kiss his scars. Edmund used to see his scars as a nuisance, only there to remind him of the treacheries of war and danger. But of course, life has different perspectives for different people. So when you came around, reassuring him that his blemishes were a sign of his bravery and strength from the pain he endured, he felt like he was going to cry. And the second your lips came in contact with a particular scar just shy of his collarbone, he immediately felt comfort and a sense of safety wash over him. Maybe it was the warmth of your lips, or the alleviation of your words, whatever it was, it made him feel like maybe everything was going to be okay. — Kisses on the nape and shoulder. (goes both ways) — Since we're on the topic of kissing, Edmund has a thing for tracing your jawline before or while the two of you are kissing, or just sharing an intimate moment in general. He prefers to rest one hand on the curve of your hip, and the other hand caressing your jaw, no matter what the position is. He also enjoys trailing little pecks from the side of your neck to the corner of your lips before he finally presses his lips against yours. — Chess dates!! Yeah, it doesn't sound like the most romantic activity but, cmon, it's Edmund Pevensie. He'll find a way to make it memorable. And while he loves a fair match, (who doesn't?) sometimes he just so happens to "accidentally" put his king in danger and — oh will you look at that, you won. Yeah, maybe he changed up his moves a little so you would win, but it's all worth it to him. He adores the sight of your eyes lighting up, and how you throw your hands up in triumph and shout in glee. While you're busy celebrating, he gazes at you fondly with an impossibly soft look in his eyes. One of his hands is lying on his cheek, supporting his head, while his other hand still remains on his king. Even though he "lost", his smile is wide as ever because as long as you're happy, he's happy.
— On days when he's not busy with training or just occupied with the responsibilities that come with being one of the kings of Narnia, picnic dates are a must. He cooks up your favorite meals and packs them up in a picnic box along with the traditional red and white checkered blanket, and off you go. It's kind of just a de-stresser for him. Quality time with you and a home cooked meal to go along with it. Sometimes he brings you to brings you to picturesque flower fields, or the patch of green grass directly in front of the river front. No matter where it is, Edmund has his reasons for why he chose those specific locations. They always remind him of you. The two of you watch the sun slowly disappear under the horizon as you both lay on the checkered blanket, with your head resting on his chest and his arm lazily wrapped around your waist, it looks just like a scene straight out of a fairytale.

a glass... or two!
sick of seeing his little brother and their best-friend just simply ogle at each other, peter decides to take matters into his own hands.
request for @edmundpevensielover : EDMUND PEVENSIE X READER
LOTS OF FLUFF AND ED AND READER HIDE THEIR FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER MAYBE SHE (READER) GETS TRICKED BY PETER (AT THE PEVENSIES' CHRISTMAS PARTY) TO DRINK AND SHE (READER) GETS DRUNK AND MAKES OUT WITH EDMUND AND THEY PRETEND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AND SUSAN CATCHES THEM MAKING OUT AGAIN.
pairing/s: edmund pevensie x fem!reader
warning/s: mentions of alcohol and reader being drunk a bit tipsy
genre: fluff, friends-to-lovers (or is it?)
word count: 1.4k
a/n: this has been in my requests for god knows how long, i do apologise for only getting to it now. i did change it up a bit from what anon originally requested, hope that's okay!
How do you make two obviously in love individuals realise their feelings for each other when the said two individuals are also too oblivious for their own good?
That was the same question Peter had going on in his head.
It has been too long.
Way too long since his little brother — Edmund, admitted he has feelings for Y/N — someone he has grown close to over the years, who also happens to be Edmund’s best friend since forever. Also including the fact that same Y/N did the exact same thing Edmund did, only a week later.
Some would say that Peter is in a huff. Jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed as he walks down the halls of the castle towards the library. A bit too niche of a topic for him to be in a huff about — but he's only human after all, and only wants happiness for the two. Gratefully, as a king, he can hide the reason behind his frustration by blaming his duties — claiming they were starting to get too much. People seem to buy it, except for two.
“Peter, are you alright? You’ve been sighing like a mad man since you sat down.”
Lucy’s question only had the young king sighing again, not missing the way Lucy and Susan shared a glance before him.
“It’s those two,” he answers, nodding towards the two figures who had seemed to tuck themselves against each other under one of the castle’s big library shelves.
Both Lucy and Susan follow Peter’s gaze, faux fatigue lacing their shoulders as they watch Y/N and Edmund share fond looks to each other as they immerse into a novel. Y/N was holding the book, conveniently keeping it up between the two of them to read. Edmund had himself stood as support for the young girl who had relaxingly rested upon his chest, his arm behind her — flat against the surface to keep his weight on, allowing both of them to stay upright.
It would be a moment for couples — only if they were one.
“Who do you think will confess first?” Lucy loudly wondered. Although, not too loud to pop the bubble Edmund and Y/N had themselves in. Peter hummed, suddenly alert as if he wasn’t just huffing a few minutes ago. His sisters looked at him, eyes waiting for him to say something.
“What? Isn’t it obvious? I’m sure Y/N will say something first.”
Susan silently scoffs, mouth opening as if someone had just offended her. “Don’t think so lowly of Edmund, would you? I know it’s going to be him.”
“Ed, do you know what colours Peter’s planning for this year?” the young woman asks as she welcomes herself into Edmund’s bedroom. Upon hearing no answer and only the sounds of water running, she assumes he’s still busy giving himself a wash. Thinking he’ll be taking a while, she sits on the four-poster — fussing herself around as she gets comfortable, crossing her legs underneath herself. Relaxing in her seat, she opens the book she had on her hold — continuing where she had left off.
Getting herself lost in the plot, she fails to realise the sound of water stopping nor the fact that Edmund had come out of the washroom and had asked a question himself. It was only when the mattress beneath her dipped did she look up from her page, seeing Edmund looking fresh — wet hair dripping all over his sheets. “You’re not laying down with wet hair, are you?” Y/N asks, eyes narrowing at the sly smile growing on Edmund’s face. “No.” he simply answered, further provoking her as he slowly ascends on to his pillows.
Y/N only sighs, rolling her eyes as she stands up from her position to grab the stray towel the boy had half-mindedly discarded. “Come on,” she says, tapping his thigh lightly, “this way you won’t be waking up tomorrow, complaining about a mind-blowing head ache you have.”
Edmund scoffs at her dramatics, swinging his legs off to the edge of the bed. Y/N settles herself between his thighs, hands under the towel as she carefully dries Edmund’s hair.
He sighs, eyes closing and his hands making its way to her waist. He keeps them there, finding himself getting drowsy at the feeling of Y/N’s fingers through his hair and the soft humming she emits. “I like it when you dry my hair for me,” he whispers, eyes still closed. Y/N laughs softly, giving his hair once last swipe before putting the towel aside. Combing the strands lightly, she finishes her routine with a soft kiss to his head. “I know you do.”
“You’ve really outdone yourself this year, Pete! The party’s amazing!”
Peter laughs, amused at the unnecessary volume Y/N spoke. “I can hear you perfectly you know. No need to shout,” he teases, laughing again at the pout forming on her lips. “Do you know where Edmund went?! I’ve been looking for him all night, I have something to say to him!”
His eyes widen at the girl’s question. Could this finally be it?
As if on cue, Edmund presents himself — although a bit tipsy himself, not as much as Y/N is though. “What’s going on?”
“Ed!” she squeals, wrapping her arms around Edmund’s torso. The boy manages to catch himself from falling, giggling to himself as he too reciprocates the hug. “Oh dear, how many have you had?”
Y/N removed herself from Edmund, hands on her hips as she appears to be deep in thought. Edmund looks at his brother for an answer, only that Peter remains silent. Raising his arms halfway up in the air feigning innocence. She suddenly gasps in her place, quickly spinning around to face Peter. “You gave me two! And then… I think I grabbed another two. And maybe… Idunnoanymore, Ithink…” her words began slurring into each other, earning a chuckle from both brothers. Edmund feels himself slowly sobering up at her antics, wrapping an arm around her waist to steady her. “It’s bed time, don’t you think?”
“No… nonono, notyet—”
Peter remains silent from where he had stood himself, not before moving a little further away from where the pair were standing. He watches as Edmund remains calm, a dopy smile on his face as he dotes on you and your blabbing. He mentally pats himself on the back, triumph enveloping him as he hopes his initial plan of getting you together (finally) happens.
“Come on, my love, just a few more steps…” Edmund encourages, guiding his very drunk girlfriend back to his bedroom in one piece.
One day he’ll get Peter’s head for this.
As soon as the door opens — Y/N escapes Edmund’s grasp, almost catapulting herself onto the bed. She relaxes herself, taking a few deep breaths in before sitting back up. “Do you think… they know?” she hiccups, eyes barely open to look at Edmund.
Edmund feels his heart swell at the sight, his eyes giving nothing but love as he slowly helps Y/N get ready for bed. “I don’t think so,” he begins, wiping a damp wash cloth over her face – a hand gingerly placed under her chin to keep her from swaying. “But I do think Peter wants us to quicken up a bit, be together officially. Maybe that’s why he gave you too many to drink.”
She lets out a small huff, a pout on her lips. “But we already are together, Ed. It’s not our fault they remain oblivious.”
“I know, my love. What about we tell them tomorrow? How does that sound? Surprise them during breakfast, hm?”
Y/N laughs, a sound never failing to sound like music to Edmund’s ears. “That’s… good…” yawns break her words apart. Edmund slowly guides her to lay down, ensuring his actions are not too sudden for her to suddenly feel nauseous. “Let’s go to bed then, now, shall we?”
Not even finished with his sentence and Y/N’s were already closed, hands tugging onto the blankets to snuggle herself in further. Edmund smiles, standing up from where he perched onto the edge of the bed to now get himself ready. Right as he enters the washroom, a question is suddenly asked.
“Ed, are you even drunk?”
He just laughs, not having the heart yet to tell you that he had caught on to Peter’s game very early on to the night. Not that he can for your soft snores had followed your question aright after.
thank you so much for reading until the end! as always, leave your thoughts/comments - i love reading them. constructive criticism is appreciated! •.˚⚘ ⋆.*.ゞ

Life from a New Perspective
Pairing: Edmund Pevensie x Fem!reader
Characters: Peter Pevensie, Susan Pevensie, Edmund Pevensie, Lucy Pevensie, Fem!reader, Reepicheep, Oreius
Warnings: Fluff, fighting, Narnia in another battle, this came out of nowhere, I don't know where this was really going but I went with it, stupid backstory for the storyline to make sense, Edmund needed to meet his match, this is oddly cute, I thought this was going to be cringey but I proved myself wrong lol, the title is 100% based on P!ATD song
Word Count: 784
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You stop, breathing hard with the prickling sensation of the people chasing you are getting closer. You spin around and see a familiar-
You furrow your brows, fighting stance barely weakening. "Reepicheep?
The brave mouse lowers his sword and calls out your name. "I thought you died?"
"When has anything ever taken me down?"
He nods, "I knew I chose you for a reason."
"You did no such thing."
"Uh- sorry but you two know each other?" You turn to the dark-haired man.
Your eye twitches. "Royalty?"
"He is the second king of old."
"The young man?"
"I prefer to be called by my name."
You close your eyes, not wanting to shout at someone with royal status. "What's your name?"
He furrows his brows, confused about how much yet so little you know about him. "You don't know?"
"I prefer not going into town."
He raises a brow, “that’s not concerning to hear.”
“People don’t like me.”
“I wonder why," he mumbles, not meaning for you to hear.
You scoff, “until next time, Reepicheep.” You jump over a log and tale off.
“Now, look what you’ve done,” says the mouse.
“Me? If anything, it was you.”
“I did nothing to run her off. I’m the reason she stayed but then you opened your big mouth.”
Edmund rolls his eyes, “whatever, let’s go.”
They take off, meeting with his siblings and a few of their warriors.
-
“What are we going to do now?” Susan asks.
“We can go to the river and see who will be willing to fight from there?” Peter offers, not entirely sure where else they can go to find more Narnians.
“We would have had a good swordsman had you not talked,” Reepicheep grumbles.
“What’d you say?” Lucy turns to him.
“His majesty ran off our only hope.”
“What’s he talking about?” Peter turns to Edmund and then the mouse. “What are you talking about?”
“The sarcastic decided to open his mouth and run off my apprentice.”
“Apprentice?” Lucy chimes in. “When did you have an apprentice?”
“Well-”
A group of bandits come up from behind the trees.
“Where did your apprentice go?” Peter shouts, kicking the bandit back.
“How am I supposed to-”
You jump the tree branch you were perched on and swing across the way, kicking the one sneaking up behind Edmund.
“There she is.”
You duck just in time, giving the mouse a bridge to climb and attack. “Looks like we meet again,” you nod to the third eldest Pevensie.
“Looks like we do.”
“Let’s see if you fight as good as you talk,” the corner of your lips twitch.
“Believe me, I’m good with a sword.”
“Care to make a wager?”
“Like?”
“If we make it out of here alive, we spar together?”
“You’ll lose.”
You shrug, “I’ve always wanted to be defeated by a king,” you wink and run to help Lucy.
“Look who’s decided to come out of the woodworks,” Oreius says.
“Guess who’s still in the woods,” you respond.
“You’re still not funny.”
“I disagree. I’m hilarious.”
“I think Edmund’s found his match,” Lucy whispers to his siblings.
“Were they flirting while we were fighting?” Peter asks, still baffled about it.
“They were,” Susan pats his arm. “Is everyone alright?”
“Well, if everyone’s fine. I’ll be off now,” you try to sneak away when your favorite mouse stops you.
“Hold on there.” He stands upon a rock. “You’re not leaving so fast. I haven’t seen you since that idiot got thrown out of town.”
“What?”
“Yeah, after you left, we found him stealing from everyone and threw him out.”
“No one believed me.”
“I did, that’s why he's gone.”
You smirk, “I knew there was a reason we met.”
That certainly quiets him down. “I believe there is someone else for you to meet.”
“I don’t like what you’re implying.”
He shrugs, giving the young king enough time to walk up to you. “You fought well.”
You slowly turn, “I didn’t need to save you nearly as times as I thought.”
“I didn’t need saving.”
“That’s what you say but who was the one to take down the bandit sneaking up behind you.”
“I had it handled.”
A smile dances across your lips, “I know. I just wanted to mess with you.”
He stares at the ground, trying to ignore the heat in his cheeks. “I- that was uncalled for.”
“Someone’s got to keep you on your toes.” You skip over to the other siblings and introduce yourself, throwing them off; on one hand, you can be deadly and fight and on the other, you can be as sweet as can be.
It intrigued Edmund a little too much for his comfort.

Imagine: going to a costume party with Edmund Pevensie, dressed as a king and a queen
Fandom: The Chronicles of Narnia
Suggested by @winterxisxcomingx
Something that had stricken you during your first meeting with Edmund was the aura of royalty that surrounded him. He's just a teenage boy, but you can't shake off the feeling that he has seen a lot, maybe even fought wars and travelled through kingdoms. He even told you such stories sometimes, and as odd as they are, they feel... believable.
That's why it makes sense to you that when he invites you to a costume party and you agree to go with him, Edmund suggests going dressed as a king and a queen.
You often felt unsure about this idea, wondering if you should've accepted Edmund's invitation. Yet there you are, standing in front of a mirror, already in a gown you have sewn yourself for this occasion.
It's very muffled initially, but you can hear your mom talking with Edmund who arrived to pick you up; she lets him in and leads him to your room.
"I feel stupid," you say when he enters, not even letting him say anything. "We really shouldn't go."
"What are you talking about? You look beautiful."
"Thank you, but... I don't think I'm going to belong."
Edmund stands next to you and puts his hand on your shoulder, giving you a reassuring smile.
"I don't care what they think of us at the party, you definitely belong by my side. You know you're my perfect queen."
You can't help but laugh. In his stories you would be great as a queen by his side. Although it plays well into your view of him, you don't know how to feel about it. You only blush and smile back at Edmund when he adds:
"You look beautiful tonight. I'm sure it'll be appreciated at the party. But now we should get going."
You leave your room arm in arm with Edmund, growing more and more happy to spend the night together.

better luck next time
warnings : a badly written duel/fight scene, slight angst at the start cuz they miss each other
word count : 1.2k
edmund stepped out of the portal in his own world, already missing her, missing narnia. he was so glad he could go back, but him and lucy didn’t know how long they would have to wait this time. they didn’t know if it was going to be a few months or a few years, but the time they were back in their own world was spent thinking about narnia.
y/n and caspian were busy at work leading a kingdom, and yet still they found time to think about their lovers. y/n and caspian weren’t siblings as such, but they had grown up together in such a way that anyone who didn’t know them could mistake the two for siblings. y/n was the child of caspian’s uncle miraz, which you would think would mean the two would be enemies, but y/n had in fact been raised by the professor working in the castle, her mother and father having only been young royals when she was born. y/n and caspian had been friends since they could remember, always doing everything together, so it was no surprise when they decided to lead narnia together. y/n, despite being intelligent, was much better with her sword than with a quill. therefore caspian was left to political matters while y/n was left to deal with military matters, a subject she enjoyed thoroughly. the two also knew how to throw a party, growing up inside the castle they had been to their fair share of balls and other various events. currently, both were aboard the dawn treader, one of the finest ships narnia had seen. drinian, the captain, was a master of the seas, he had been sailing most of his life and the two royals trusted him with their lives. the rest of the crew was composed of relatively normal sailors and narnians. the dawn treader hadn’t been sailing long and conditions were good, but the royals were looking for something in particular. something they couldn’t find in their own land.
water began to rise around edmund, he watched as it took his sister under and soon his cousin eustace too. he swam up, watching the room they had been sat in disappear around him. eventually he broke the surface of the water, shouting for lucy he shaded his eyes from the bright narnian sun, watching as a large ship came towards them. “ed! edmund!” he heard lucy shout from behind him. he turned to see her and eustace, swimming towards them and away from the ship. “who do you think is on the ship?” lucy asked, trying to keep herself afloat. they watched as crew began to dive from the ship, swimming towards them, eustace began to panic, and they all began to swim away from the crew. “it’s alright i’ve got you.” said caspian as he grabbed lucy, stopping her from slipping under the water. “caspian!” lucy shouted, excited the see the young king again. “let’s get you back on the ship ay?”
“caspian it’s great to see you again!” said ed, “if your here, where’s y/n? did you leave them to rule while your gone?” he asked curiously, hoping y/n was in fact on the boat too. he had missed them so. “i’m right here ed!” they exclaimed from behind him. he turned and enveloped them in a hug. “i’ve missed you.” they said in unison, giggling like lovesick teens. “y/n here didn’t come to save you as they didn’t want to get their hair wet!” caspian laughed. “hey! cas, you know i only managed to get it to look good today! i wasn’t ruining it!” they retorted, turning to lucy and pulling her in for a hug, “i missed you too, lu! don’t tell ed but your my favourite sibling.” they whispered. lucy laughed returning their hug before eustace screeched out. “you better tell me what’s going on right now! i’ll report you to the british consulate! have you arrested for kidnapping!” y/n began to chuckle at the boys outburst, walking towards him and reaching out their hand. “queen/king y/n of narnia, welcome to the dawn treader!” they smiled warmly at the boy, trying hard not to giggle at the boys reluctance. “eustace scrubb, those two over there happen to be my cousins, theyre always going on about this place called narnia, quite annoying really-” he was cut off by a minotaur “your in narnia boy!” eustace turned, and before he could even reply, he passed out, probably from the shock of seeing a minotaur. “something i said?”
“y/n here has actually been leading narnias military at the minute, theyre better than you with a sword now ed!” caspian bragged, watching as she rolled her eyes and edmund gasped. “how about a duel then?” ed smirked, watching y/n think about his offer. “why so i can beat you ed?” y/n smirked back. now the crew had started to gather, excited to watch the action unfold. “the people want to see it.” said lucy laughing. “we cant disappoint the people ed!” y/n laughed too. they unsheathed their sword as edmund did the same with his. “first to be disarmed loses!” y/n exclaimed as they pointed their sword at edmund. “fine, but if i win…” he pondered, “you have to tell the kingdom i’m a better swordsman!” y/n scoffed. “just wait until i beat you!”
their swords clashed as the duel began, onlookers passing whispers between themselves, betting on who they suspected would win. y/n swung their sword towards edmunds leg, he jumped narrowly avoiding the blow before sending his sword towards their shoulder. the clang of metal resonated as they blocked his hit. y/n took a deep inhale, taking a step towards edmund before swinging, narrowly missing his head. their swords met again, and this time y/n managed to turn theirs just at the right angle, watching as edmund struggled to keep a hold of his sword they lightly kicked his abdomen, pulling their sword away and watching him stumble back slightly. onlookers watched with intent as edmunds sword left his hand. the blade fell almost in slow motion before hitting the deck, the sound declaring y/n victorious. they cheered, watching edmund flush red after being beaten so easily. “better luck next time ed!” caspian shouted from the sidelines, and y/n swore they could hear the exchanging of coins from the crew. “yeah ed, looks like the kingdom will never hear how good of a swordsman you are!” y/n laughed.
“what do you want?” asked ed. “what?” “for winning, what do you want?” he asked again. y/n thought for a moment before walking closer towards edmund. “it depends, how much of your dignity are you willing to sacrifice?” they quirked an eyebrow, trailing their fingers across the buttons of his tunic and glancing towards their small wardrobe. “all of it for you y/n” “good”
“ed! you look hilarious!” lucy and caspian were crying with laughter as edmund strutted out in y/n’s clothes. “y/n i cant believe this is what you made me do!” he began to turn red as he watched the crew stare at him, beginning to laugh when he continued walking further onto the deck. “that’s what you get for losing king edmund!” shouted drinian.

Hey everyone :)
I'm participating in WIP Wednesday for the first time ever and I made a poll asking what people would like to see (Link here)
It would be so appreciated if people could give me their thoughts on these snippets of my current WIPs ❤️❤️ Looking forward to posting on Ao3 as soon as I can! Some are much more developed or time pressing than others but I hope to have at least one out before the new year with the rest closely following 😊 Some of these paragraphs are also pretty disjointed/unpolished but lot of them are still in the early writing or editing stages.
Hope you enjoy!
WIP Wednesday Snippets for December below ❄️❤️✨️❄️❤️✨️❄️✨️❤️❄️❤️✨️
Multi-Chapter Steddie Steve Centric Fic (First Chapter)
“I don’t know what to tell you, Robin, I was just so excited for the working week that I couldn’t sleep last night” Steve deadpanned, ignoring the pit gnawing its way through his stomach and making his chest feel a little too tight. Thankfully, the joke had worked as he’d intended as Robin’s expression went from sceptical to straight up disdainful.
“Ugh, don’t remind me! I actually think I might die if it gets any hotter. I’ve tried talking to Keith about fixing the AC and all he does is grumble at me with a mouth full of Cheetos.”
“Yeah, tell me about it. My hair hasn’t looked this shitty since eighth grade, this humidity is awful for it”
“I don’t know about that, sailor boy. You forget that I also worked with you last summer so I know what you tried to hide under that hat when it couldn’t handle the humidity.”
Steve grimaced at the pet-name as his mind was suddenly assaulted by flashbacks of a Russian guard calling him the exact same thing at Starcourt, except he had worn a cruel smile in contrast to Robin’s playful one and had delivered a swift punch to the gut shortly after.
“God, I hated that stupid hat” he said with a shudder “and it didn’t hide shit, it only made me look worse.”
“Well, you don’t have to wear one for this job, at least. Just gotta put up with Keith and assholes who return their video tapes all tangled.”
“I’ll take Keith and tangled VCRs over screaming kids and floors that’ve been puked on any day” Steve replied, and he meant it. Working at Scoops Ahoy had well and truly sucked, even before all of the Russian and supernatural bullshit. He’d only been working there in the first place because his asshole of a dad had wanted to punish and humiliate him for not achieving good grades or getting into college.
‘Since your worthless hide can’t even get into goddamn tech then the very least you can do is find a job lowly enough to take you on so you can learn some fucking responsibility for once your goddamn life’ he had spat at him, full of virulence and contempt with the harsh aroma of whiskey accompanying every last syllable.
If he was being completely honest with himself, which was something that he also sucked at doing, Steve wasn’t entirely sure if he’d even wanted to go to college. He’d applied to the Scott Business School up at Indiana State because he didn’t know what the fuck else to apply for and he’d wanted to keep his dad happy plus stay relatively close to Hawkins so that he could still visit the kids. He’d barely looked into the university itself and it was the same story for the other couple of in-state techs he’d also applied for but in the end it hadn’t mattered, he didn’t get into any of them anyways.

“God, can we just go back to laughing like we were inside earlier?” Steve groaned as he carded a hand through his un-kept hair anxiously.
“Sure dude, I can go back to laughing. I mean, just looking at your hair right now is making me want to laugh my ass off” Eddie said with a wolfish grin.
Steve blushed and touched his hair again, suddenly feeling a little self-conscious.
“Shut up” he laughed nervously as he felt the flush creep up his neck and onto his cold cheeks. “I haven’t exactly had the kind of day that called for making myself look presentable.”
“No no, it’s cool man” Eddie continued to chuckle. “I actually like it when it’s super messy, it’s cute.”
What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck what the –
Steve could feel himself going even redder and he just hoped that the shimmery glow of the moonlight wasn’t enough to illuminate the colour across his otherwise pale features.
“It is not that messy!” Steve sputtered as butterflies swelled in his stomach, unsure if it was from annoyance, amusement, indignation or something else…
“And it’s not cute! I just haven’t had the willpower to do anything to it recently” he argued as the flutter in his stomach intensified when he felt Eddie’s devilish eyes on him accompanied by an amused smirk.
“Oh come on – you can’t tell me that this isn’t cute” Eddie suddenly leaned forward, grinning whilst he reached out and ruffled Steve’s hair, much to the other’s outrage.
“What are you, Eddie – no!” Steve squawked in protest, trying to lean away from Eddie’s batting hand and falling off his lawn chair in the process. Eddie just continued to laugh hysterically, tossing the his cigarette held in his other hand to one side and following Steve to the floor.
“Munson – hey! Oh my god, stop!” Steve cried, but even he couldn’t contain his own laughter now.
Eddie did not stop. Instead, he tried to pin Steve to the ground and it wasn’t long before the two of them were in an outright wrestling match on the dirty, cold patio floor.
“If it wasn’t messy before, it certainly is now!” Eddie cackled between laboured breaths, wrangling with Steve’s flailing limbs until he eventually lost the upper hand. Steve managed to hook a leg around Eddie’s waist and swiftly flipped the two of them over so that Eddie now lay back flat against the ground and Steve suddenly found himself on top, panting.
Multi-Chapter Edmund Pevensie Centric Fic (First Chapter - Casmund much later down the line)
Peter and Susan had only been five and four when baby Edmund had come along but their young age hadn’t stopped the two of them from being totally awed by the little creature they came home to one morning after spending the night at Aunt Mary’s. They had known that their parents had been expecting of course – there had been many days spent together as a family at home where Peter been diligent in his efforts in helping his mummy carry heavy objects around the house or pulling the chair out for her to sit at the dinner table, whilst little Susan had dutifully brought her sloshing cups of tea and platefuls of biscuits, all under the twinkling, watchful eye of their father. Fascinated by the bump that their mother carried for a number of months, knowing just how precious it was, they had spent countless hours huddled beside her on the sofa watching for the flutter of a kick, their soft fingertips gently feeling for the press of a foot or an elbow or a hand.
They knew what a baby looked like, having seen so many at the park or in London’s bustling streets but nothing prepared them for the one waiting for them bundled up in their exhausted mother’s arms that warm July morning.
It was as though two of them had been put under a spell the moment they had arrived atop of the stairs and peered apprehensively around their parent’s bedroom door, totally transfixed by the sight before them.
“It’s alright my darlings.” Their mother had said softly. “Come closer and meet your little brother.”
Eyes wide with curious mesmerisation, Peter and Susan had cautiously made their way to their parents’ bed where their mother lay whilst the bundle cooed and snuggled into to her. Their father stood beside her, looking tired but proud as he too had beckoned them to sit atop the covers.
“He’s so tiny” Susan had murmured as she had reached out a hand to gently stroke Edmund’s raven black hair and soft, pale cheeks.
“Can I hold him?” Peter asked tentatively, wanting very much to cuddle his baby brother yet being afraid to, for he had looked so small and fragile.
Helen smiled. “Of course you can sweetheart, come and sit up here with me” she’d said, allowing room for her two eldest children to sit closer beside her, being careful not to jostle her as they did so. Peter had nestled into her side whilst Susan had leant on him too before she showed them how to hold their new sibling and gently passed Edmund into the anxiously awaiting arms of Peter.
“What’s his name mummy?” asked Susan, whose wide, star-struck eyes never left the little baby in front of her. Helen looked distant for a moment, her kind features becoming filled with warmth, despite the bags beneath her eyes and her clammy skin.
“Edmund. This is little Edmund” she replied while her husband rested his hand on her shoulder affectionately.
“After your grandfather” he said fondly as he and Helen shared a smile.
“From the Great War?” Peter asked, staring down at Edmund in wonder, allowing him to wrap his tiny hand around his pinkie finger.
“Yes.” his father answered with a hint of sincerity to his tone. “He looks just like him. He’d be so proud of you, my love.” He added, squeezing his wife’s shoulder once more and giving her a knowing look.
“He has our eyes” Helen murmured quietly. “Just as Peter and Susan have yours.”
Multi-Chapter Snape & Lily’s Daughter/Harry’s Half Sister Harry Potter Fic (Prologue/First Chapter)
The forest surrounding Godric’s Hollow shook softly as whispering gusts of wind moved between the skeletons of trees. In the moonlight, each branch glistened with the sheen of autumn frost; each and every shape and shadow standing stark against the forest’s silvery glow. Leaves the shade of singed orange skipped along the cold forest floor with every sigh of the wind and far off sounds of a fox’s screech and an owl’s call could be heard as they were carried through the trees.
In the golden glow of the rustic porch at the back of the Potter cottage, a girl of eighteen sat upon the worn redbrick steps with her long red hair hanging loose past her shoulders and gloved hands wrapped around a steaming mug of pumpkin spiced tea. Her green eyes sparkled under the moon, radiant with you but also heavy with weariness as she gazed out at the looming forest past the red brick wall ending the Potter land.
“Lily?” a voice called from inside, followed by cautious footsteps.
“Out here” Lily called back as her heavy thoughts were interrupted and her gaze was pulled from the abyss of the shadowy forest ahead of her.
“Are you not freezing to death out here?” the voice of James Potter came fretfully from behind her as she turned to see her fiancé stood in the rustic old doorway. “I can feel the draft from the kitchen, are you alright? You’ve been sat out here for almost a half hour.”
“I hardly noticed how much time had passed until now until now” Lily admitted as she turned and gave him a soft smile. “I’ve been too busy staring off into the night.”
“Hmm” James mused. “That forest always frightened me as a child after nightfall, even if I’d spent the day playing in it with my father.”
“I don’t mind it. The sounds of the trees comfort me, even in darkness” Lily replied, eyes still looking to woods beyond the threshold of the Potter garden.
She was about to get up when she suddenly inhaled sharply, back straightening as one of her hands instinctively moving to her stomach.
“You alright?” James asked, concerned.
“She’s moving again” Lily said with a smile. “I doubt it’ll be long now.
James looked pensive for a moment, worry still etched into his features before he offered the red-headed girl a hand.
“Come on. Let’s get you inside, before you both catch your death.”

Our Memory Of The Dawn 12 - Never Want To Forget
I still want to hold on, because I don’t want to forget it all. I never want everything about you to remain as something that only exists far beyond my reach… — Florence Joyce
xxxxxx
The sun was up already by the time Amy woke up from a night’s sleep. It was strange, but she was able to get some sleep even with her emotions in chaos just the other night.
Or should she thank Edmund for that?
Amy couldn't help smiling at the thought of what happened last night. Yes, it was emotional. That was a given. But she also felt… relieved, for some reason.
Could it be that… because she knew that it doesn't really end here in Narnia? It was a weird thought, but she chose not to pay attention to it.
With a sigh, Amy entered the guest room she had used. Only to be surprised to see Edmund by the study table.
Wait… why was he looking at her adventure journal?
Soon after, she frowned at the sight of his serious expression as he continued flipping through her notebook. Why would he have that expression on his face, though?
But as much as she felt bad for having the urge to disturb Edmund, she knew she had to.
"You look so serious reading that, Edmund," Amy said as she finally decided to enter the room.
Of course, her action had startled the young king. She had the urge to laugh at the sight, to be honest. But she chose not to do so. She didn't want to embarrass him any further.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to read through your journal again. But… I just couldn't help it."
Amy smiled once again and shook her head. "Don't apologize. I think I had an idea about your reason for looking in that journal."
Of course, her statement had made him frown. But she chose not to explain anymore as she continued approaching him. "Are you alright?"
Edmund looked at her for a short while before he answered with a nod. "I did get to sleep well, even with our discussion last night."
"I'm sure you know that's not what I meant to ask."
He didn't say anything after that, however. And she understood. So she chose not to probe into it further. Instead, she took the journal that was on the table before facing Edmund.
"So what did you think of the new adventures written here? But you have to know that I still haven't finished writing all of them there. I'm sure you're aware that there's still a lot that needs to be written."
"I wish I could read them once they're done. But… I don't think that's going to happen anymore." After that, she saw Edmund sigh before smiling as he faced her. "By the way, can I ask you something?"
Though confused, Amy nodded. "Sure. About what?"
"Who's Herbert Carson?"
"Huh?" Why would he mention and ask about that name?
"I saw that name on the leather cover of your journal," he answered and then pointed at the journal she was holding.
When Amy looked at the part of the journal that he was talking about, it was when it hit her. "Ah, you mean my grandfather? This leather cover was something he gave to me while I was younger along with several sets of notebooks that he made himself."
"It seems to me that he's the one who encouraged you to write this much, huh?"
"Well, he did his best to keep his memories alive in all of the journals that he had written since he was a child. He only said that I do my best to document my life in any way I can. Writing them down is one of the ways I did that. Even when some of them could be called 'absurd' since I truly detailed my adventures here in Narnia before."
Upon looking up, she frowned at the sight of the smile on Edmund's face. Wait… Was there a reason for him to smile at her like that?
"Why are you smiling like that?" she couldn't help asking.
But Edmund shook his head, his smile remained. Even at the sight of that, Amy knew one thing. She was sure that she would engrave that smile in her heart for a long time. Even after she would return to her own world.
"Let's go. They're starting to look for us already. I think it's about time we head to the courtyard," she said.
With that suggestion, Edmund nodded. Before she could even stop him, he already took her free hand and began pulling her away from there. Of course, it was a surprise for her to see him do that. Then again, he had done a lot of impulsive things towards her.
So perhaps there was no reason for her to even feel strange about all of it. She knew she would miss this, anyway. She might as well relish it while she could.
"Thank you so much, Edmund. I'm really glad I got to meet you here," Amy ended up saying before she could even stop herself.
He stopped walking not long after and faced her. Once again, his expression was serious and all she did was to meet his gaze. He didn't say anything, though. Instead, he just held her hand tight before starting to pull her again.
Yes, there were no words spoken. Even so, his gestures and his gaze was enough as a response.
It didn't take long before they finally reached the courtyard. A lot of people were already gathered there. When she saw that the other Pevensies had gathered beside Caspian and Aslan, Amy faced Edmund.
"You better go with them."
The young king gave Amy one last look before approaching his siblings that gathered in that one area. She, however, decided to stay a little further away. She didn't want to interrupt anything that Aslan and even Caspian would say to the people.
And then of course, the issue of departing had finally come to light. But to her surprise, she soon learned that both Peter and Susan could not re-enter Narnia.
"Don't look too surprised, Amy. I would say that this is already inevitable," Peter said as soon as he faced her.
"But… I just don't understand."
"You will be able to do so someday, my dear," Aslan spoke this time, making Amy turn her attention to the said lion. "You can still come back to this land, once the situation permits it. Just like Edmund and Lucy."
At the mention of Edmund, she soon faced the said Just King. Her eyes widened at the sight of the young man actually looking at her from where he stood. Of course, she already expected her heart to be reacting fast once again.
But this time, she accepted it. It was about her feelings, after all. At that thought, she smiled.
"Thank you… for giving me another chance to return here. It did allow me to learn a lot more than ever before," Amy said before bowing to Aslan to show her appreciation over the matter.
The lion nodded once before facing the crowd to address them once more. But she wasn't listening this time. Instead, she approached both Peter and Susan before she curtsied to them.
"I'm really glad I got to meet you two," she said which earned her smiles from the two former Narnian rulers.
"Same here. It's too bad that we only got to know you for a short time," Susan responded and held Amy's hands.
"But I'm sure it's enough for it to last in our memories, right?"
Amy didn't know why she said that, though. But she was sure of the urge she had to say it to them, even though it was confusing.
One by one, Amy started saying her goodbyes. Especially when she saw some Telmarines enter the portal that Aslan had created on the tree. Of course, the feat was enough to induce fear in some of the people. And so she decided one thing to at least ease that fear that started to build some tension among the people.
"I will go there next, if you'll let me, Aslan," she declared.
With that, she immediately sensed someone gazed at her intently. She didn't even have to look around to know who it was.
"If you wish," was all that Aslan said.
It was enough as an answer for Amy. After taking a deep breath, she turned around to the direction where that intense gaze came from.
She was right. It came from Edmund. And now, she knew it was that time already. She took a few steps towards the young king before stopping in front of him.
"So you're heading home before us, huh?" Edmund said that soon broke the silence between them.
Amy answered with a nod. It was strange, though, that she was doing it with a smile.
"I mean, I'm quite sure we came from different places. Even if we did enter the portal together, we would still end up getting separated in the middle of it."
Before she could even give him the chance to say anything else, she took one more step before placing her hand around him and embracing him tight. Possibly even tighter than how she did it last night.
"Thank you for everything you've done for me while I'm here, Edmund. And thank you… for being with me all the way," she whispered and closed her eyes as she hugged him tighter.
It didn't take long before Edmund returned the gesture to the same degree. It was enough to make her smile.
"I'm glad I got to meet you, Amy," Edmund said in a low voice after a few moments of silence between them.
That hug lasted for a few moments before Edmund finally let her go. Amy slowly distanced himself before letting go of his hands. She mouthed "thank you" one last time and turned around to take the necessary steps.
It was about time, anyway.
"Thank you for all the help that you've given to me and my people, Amy. I'll never forget it all," Caspian said and bowed to her.
But typical Amy stopped him before he could even fully lower his head. "You don't have to do that. I just did what I could to make sure we got what we wanted from the start. And I hope you do your best to make this last for generations to come."
Caspian eyed her for a few moments before he smiled and nodded when her words had registered in his mind. "I will, Your Majesty. I promise."
For Amy, that answer was enough. She bowed to the former prince and proceeded to where Aslan was at. She bowed to him, as well, before the lion breathed on the tree on that courtyard once again. It didn't take long before the portal materialized once more.
"This is it…" she whispered before taking a deep breath.
She turned her head to look at Edmund once again — this time, it would be the last. She smiled at him and bowed lightly. Not long after, she took several steps towards the portal and entered it without hesitation this time.

"Are you alright, Ed?"
It was that question coming from Peter that had snapped Edmund out of his reverie. But to his confusion, his vision was a little blurry. Only to realize that he was, in fact, crying.
He wasn't able to stop his tears from falling as he watched Amy disappear in front of him. Then again, he knew he couldn't help it.
"I don't know," was all that he said as a reply. Of course, that answer wasn't even a lie.
Lucy soon approached Edmund and placed a hand on his shoulder. He eyed his younger sister because of that.
"At least, you're not hiding it. But you don't have to worry or be sad. Amy's going to be alright," Lucy said with an understanding smile.
"I know that. But I know that I'll be alright. Perhaps it hadn't fully registered in my mind that I would get to see her leave like this."
"Though I'm sure that you're aware of this being the inevitable moment, right? I think Amy was able to accept it even when it would surely make her sad." It was Susan who spoke this time.
Edmund didn't say anything as a response to that, though. He just remained staring at the portal where Amy had entered.
"I'm alright. I don't think I have anything to worry about," he said later on before facing his siblings. "Even when it came to this, I knew it in me that it would happen like this. We both accepted it even before I talked to her last night."
The other Pevensies only smiled upon hearing Edmund say that. It was true that this separation was an inevitable one. But they didn’t realize that Edmund would come easily in terms with all of it. Of course, they also knew that it was a hard one to deal with.
Even so, there was still something good that came out of it. For some reason, they couldn’t help feeling that way.
With that realization, the siblings faced Caspian and bid their goodbyes to the former prince. Especially Susan, who had expressed her goodbye in a rather special way.
And then, it was time.
One step… Two steps…
Soon after, they finally arrived in the subway where they were before they were summoned. Back to their old clothes as students… back to their old lives as children of England.
If Edmund was going to be honest, it did feel sad for him. But he knew he didn’t have time to dwell on that any further. It didn’t take long before the four siblings embarked on the train going back to the academy.
It was upon noticing that his torch had disappeared and was presumably left in Narnia that a boy suddenly bumped into him. It caused the boy’s bag and some of its contents to spill over.
“Oh, no! I’m so sorry!” The boy kept on saying that over and over as he gathered his scattered things.
Both Peter and Edmund helped the boy do so. That is… until something caught Edmund’s attention among the things that had scattered.
‘Is that… what I think it is?’ he couldn’t help thinking as the boy had finally gathered all of his things and thanked the siblings profusely for helping him.
“Be careful next time,” was all that Edmund could say to the boy before he left. He could only watch the boy’s figure walking away from that spot before he completely disappeared from the crowd in the train.
“Is there something wrong, Ed?”
That question coming from Susan snapped him out of his thoughts. Though he shook his head just to assure them that it was alright, he still couldn’t help looking back to the direction that the boy had passed through.
Soon after, Edmund smiled before shaking his head. “That would be crazy if it’s like that.”
“What is?”
Edmund faced Peter and shook his head once again. “Nothing.” But even after saying that, the smile on his face didn’t disappear.
‘If that’s the case, then I could finally see where Amy inherited her features.’
It was a crazy thought. But perhaps, it wouldn’t be so bad to hold on to that.
xxxxxx
By the way, there’s still one more chapter before this story comes to an end. It was just a short one, possibly something that will wrap this story in a good way. At least that’s what I think. Thank you for reading!

i bet on losing dogs
In which edmund pevensie is rather melancholy, and the ways his girlfriend helps him
PAIRING: edmund pevensie x girlfriend!reader
WARNINGS: angst, teasing, making out, allusion to nsfw, fluff ending
WORD COUNT: 1.6k (nearly)
AN: This is set in 1940's England!! Edmund and reader are of age (like early 20's), and Lucy is like 17/18!! sorry about this one, it's rather short...
The sidewalk leading up to the old Pevensie house was covered with dust and dirt from the raids and battles that occurred above the city. She sighed regardless, pushing open the gate, cobblestone steps greeting her.
“Y/N!”
The elder girl whipped around, smiling brightly at the youngest Pevensie. “Lucy! Where are you off to?”
Lucy groaned. “Edmund is in another one of his moods. I tried to comfort him but…” She frowned. “You know how he gets.”
“You can’t leave.” Y/N pleaded. “I’ve made us a picnic, we were supposed to enjoy the day, bask in what sun we have left.”
Lucy sighed. “I’m sorry, really, but I think my being around would only worsen his mood.” They hugged quickly, and Lucy made for the gate.
“At least let me give you your sandwich.” Y/N argued. “I can’t have you going hungry on my watch.”
Lucy gratefully took it, laughing. “Thank you. For taking care of us, and him.” She sighed, looking back at the house once more. “Especially him.”
Y/N waved goodbye haphazardly, making her way into the house. It was rather quiet, she’d thought to herself as she walked through. The house had lost most of its original flair, now that its only inhabitant was Edmund. Lucy had not been lucky enough to stay with her brother, her aunt and uncle believing that it was improper for a young lady to stay with her unwed brother. The siblings were already melancholy in nature, and being separated only worsened their moods. Lucy had been more or less fine, but Edmund, he had retreated into himself these past several months, and Y/N couldn’t figure out why. After weeks of wondering, she assumed it was a combination of the fact that Lucy wasn’t around and that his two elder siblings were in America.
“Edmund?” She called out, walking through the first floor toward the kitchen. “Where are you?”
No answer.
Setting her food in the ice box so it didn’t spoil, she stepped into the garden. “Ed? Where are-” The shelter’s door was haphazardly thrown open, and she sighed. Walking towards it, she frowned at the sight in front of her.
Edmund was sitting on the ground, clutching the photo of him and his siblings. She sat beside him, placing a hand in his hair and combing through it. “I made sandwiches.”
Edmund hummed, leaning into her touch. “That’s nice.”
Y/N nodded, kissing his temple gently. “Lu said she had to leave.”
He nodded. “Got tired of me. Just like you will eventually, I imagine.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, admonishing him. “Edmund! What has made you-”
“I-” Edmund sighed, squeezing his eyes shut. “I’m sorry. I’m simply tired.”
“You’re worrying me, my love. Lucy writes to me saying you barely eat, and these past months…” She smiled weakly. “If you are unhappy, tell me. I want to help you, and if-”
Edmund’s eyes shot open. “What are you saying?”
“I only mean that you’ve been distant…”
Edmund stood up, storming back into the house, Y/N trailing behind him. “Are you trying to break up with me?”
“How could you say that? I just-” He whipped around, and Y/N collided with his chest. “It’s not just Lucy that you’re scaring.”
His eyes softened. “I don’t want to scare you.” He placed a gentle hand on her cheek. “I’m sorry. Truly, I am.”
“You don’t need to apologize. It’s just-” She smiled. “You can talk to me.”
“I know I can.” Edmund smiled back, leaning his forehead against hers. “I know.”
“Good.” She whispered, “Then can you tell me what happened three months ago?”
He stiffened. “I can’t. I’m sorry.”
She leaned back, nodding. “I will not push, but just know… you can tell me. When you’re ready.”
Edmund held her hand in his, rubbing the back with her thumb. “I know. I just need time, that’s all.” He smiled reassuringly, pulling her further into the house. “Now, what kind of sandwiches did you make?”
London was beautiful in the winter, Y/N thought to herself as the pair walked through the streets. Edmund was even more beautiful, with his dark raven hair contrasting against the white snow, his grey eyes squinting ever so slightly.
“You’re quite the furnace Ed.” Y/N giggled, nuzzling herself into his side. “Are you even cold?”
“Not in the slightest.” He smirked. She always joked that he was made for winter, that it didn’t seem to have an effect on him. “You know, when I-” Halfway through his sentence, his entire mood shifted, and he shook his head, staring at the ground. He had been doing this more and more recently, shutting himself off from her right when he opened up.
“Edmund…” She sighed. “Are you-”
“Lucy used to say the same thing. She used to cling to me when we were younger, trying to stay warm.” He smiled faintly. “Susan and Peter would just laugh at us.”
Y/N stared off the edge of the bridge, silence falling over them for just a moment. “I’m sorry.”
“Sorry?” He tilted his head. “For what?”
“I obviously brought something up that upset you.” She murmured.
He stopped, pulling her around so she was facing him. “What?”
She blushed. “I don’t like seeing you upset, and I’m-” Edmund leaned down, kissing her quickly.
Y/N pulled away, giggling. “What- What was that for?”
“You’re too good for me, I think.” He laughed. “I made myself upset. You had no part in it. Trust me.” He began walking again, and she found her spot nuzzling back into his side.
“Ah.” She smiled. “I’m sure you miss your siblings terribly.”
He nodded, leaning down to kiss her once more. “I do. But you ease the pain tremendously.”
She laughed, raising an eyebrow. “Is that all I do?”
He shook his head, stopping in the middle of the sidewalk once more, smashing his lips against hers. “Not all, no.”
People muttered as they walked around them, rolling their eyes. Neither of them seemed to care, staying in their own little bubble for a little while longer.
The house was warm, thanks to the fireplace.
It was also warm due to the couple that laid haphazardly on the sofa.
Y/N sighed from Edmund’s touch, blush dusting her cheeks. “Ed…”
He smirked, kissing down her neck once again. “You’re perfect, do you know that?” Pressing his nose right between her ear and jaw, he kissed so lightly she could have sworn it never actually happened. “I’m captivated by you, truly.”
“Edmund…” She whined once more.
“I do wonder though, are you capable of saying anything other than my name?”
She scoffed, pushing him away playfully. “Ed- You are without a doubt-” His lips collided with hers, and she fell into his touch again. “The most insufferable man-”
Edmund laughed. “Tell me more, I beg you.”
“You enjoy teasing me.” She raised an eyebrow, trying to portray a look of disapproval which did not deter him. “It is quite-” He placed both hands on either side of her face, pulling her for possibly the deepest kiss of the night. “Incorrigible.”
He laughed again, pausing his attack on her sense to correct her. “I don’t think that’s the right word for this situation.”
“And now you’re evaluating my language.” She stood up, walking toward the kitchen as Edmund trailed behind her, eventually taking his place leaning against the wall rather debonairly. “Whatever will I do with you?”
“Perhaps go back to our rather lovely evening on the sofa.” He murmured.
“We cannot just lounge all day, my love.” She rummaged through the ice box, looking for something slightly appetizing. “If it was up to you-”
“If it was up to me, we would be upstairs.” He spoke clearly and without hesitation. “And you would be-”
A hand was clamped over his mouth before he could finish his sentence. He raised an eyebrow at his girlfriend, who was trying her hardest not to scold him. “What has gotten into you?”
“I have a stunning woman in front of me, the day is young, and I love you.” He said behind her still tightly clamped hand. Peeling it away, he wrapped his free arm around her waist, pulling her dangerously close. “I love you deeply. So deeply-”
“Edmund.” Y/N rolled her eyes. “Don’t overdo it.”
“How can you say that?” He gasped. “Do you not-”
She leapt up, kissing him quickly. “Don’t finish that sentence. You know I love you. So deeply.” She exaggerated, teasing him. “Now, will you please help me fix up some lunch?”
“But-” Her steely gaze sent a chill down his spine. “Fine, fine.”
She nodded. “Will you let me go?”
“No.” He shook his head, leaning down. “I don’t think I will.”
She blushed, her heart ablaze with love. “Edmund, if you focus for just this thirty minutes, you might be able to persuade me.”
“Persuade you?”
“Believe it or not, I do find you devastatingly handsome.” She wiggled her eyebrows, gesturing toward the stairs. “It would be a shame if-”
He placed his arm underneath her legs, racing up the stairs with her in his arms. “You are the love of my life.” The bedroom door was slammed open and shut in an instant, throwing her on the bed. “Have I told you?”
She nodded, reaching out to grasp his sweater and pull him to her. “Perhaps once or twice.”
He smirked. “Let me prove it to you.”

The Weight of Beauty
Edmund Pevensie x Reader
(Requested by @popsixsquish
‘Could I perhaps request some Edmund comforting an insecure reader?’
Again, very sorry it took me over a year to finally get to this! 😬)
A/N: So, this is kind of a confession- I write all my requests and x Reader one-shots with my OC, Sanya, in mind. I write her name and her country and her hair colour, and then I change it to Y/N, etc, after I finish writing.
If you would like, I have a four-part Narnia series on my Wattpad, which is Edmund x (plus-size, POC) Original Character; it is called The Alliance Series (‘Alliance’, ‘The Heirs’, ‘Moonshine’, and ‘Fairytale?’, with ‘Sultana’ as a companion AU), which you might enjoy! If you enjoyed my fics here, and if you liked the Y/N in them, you’ll love Sanya as well as her relationship with Edmund. The marriage and overall background of Edmund and Y/N in this fic are actually based off Edmund and Sanya in Alliance!
Here is the link to my Wattpad⤵
A/N2: You know, I am personally very insecure myself and I am pretty chubby, so writing this down was actually rather cathartic. I’m not madly in love with Edmund like I was when I was sixteen (when I started writing The Alliance Series, btw), but it is still quite comforting to write one of my favourite characters being so complimentary and sweet about something most people are not.
Anyway-
Y/N= Your Name, Y/C/N= Your Country's Name, Y/N/n= Your Nickname, Y/H/C= Your Hair Colour, Y/E/C= Your Eye Colour. Reader is plus-size.
Happy Reading!
---
Y/N knew she had a terrible expression on her face as she strode back to her bedchambers, and she knew it wasn’t the most fitting expression for a Queen whose main work that day had been a diplomatic excursion- but she could not help it! She was usually very good at hiding her innermost emotions, but today had simply gone too far.
“Ugh.” Was the first word- or, sound?- that left her lips as she shut- rather violently- the door of the bedchamber. She let her feet carry her to the large canopy bed that stood in the center of the room, and she immediately fell back on it, absolutely uncaring how it would mess up the hair that her maid had carefully arranged. She couldn’t care less about what she looked like in this moment.
And then she let out a hacking laugh at the irony. This whole predicament was because she cared too much about what she looked like.
After a few minutes- or perhaps hours, Y/N did not know, she was prone to dissociating from reality- she heard the door open. If it had been any other room, she would’ve sat up quickly, ready to fight if it was an intruder, but there was only one other person with the key for this room- and thus, it could only be one person to be coming in the bedchamber currently, for it was his bedroom as much as hers.
Her husband, King Edmund the Just.
“Y/N/n.” Edmund’s tone was rather humorous, and Y/N felt the urge to throw a pillow at him. “I know you are prone to sleeping in, but didn’t you have a diplomatic tour today? With- Terabinthia?”
Curse his good memory.
She made a sound that resembled Troll, but thankfully Edmund knew her well enough to know that she was simply affirming his question.
“Did the delegation not arrive? I am sorry I could not be with you,” Edmund sat down next to his wife, and smiled when she automatically held her hand out to him, which he clasped in his, “but the matter with the villagers took all day. Lucy is still there, I only had to return for a courtier needed a signature very urgently.”
Thankfully, Susan had already signed for it by the time he’d reached, and so he had made his way to his bedchambers instead, for some rest and relaxation.
“They arrived.” Y/N mumbled, eyes closed. She did feel slightly better, though, just the simple act of her husband holding her hand was a comfort. “And they left.”
“Already? Good for you, my antisocial darling.”
She felt the corners of her mouth lift despite herself.
But she said, “I made them leave.”
“Er- not a diplomatic action, that.”
“No, husband, not like that.” Though, she had done that many times before. She was absolutely not the royal who was the first choice for such missions. “They were too embarrassed, so they excused themselves after an hour. Because of me.”
The Just King’s brows furrowed, “Why were they embarrassed?”
She did not answer, but she did open her eyes. Edmund’s chocolate-brown eyes looked down at her, concern and some amusement in them, and she let out a sigh.
“Don’t you wish you were married to someone thin?”
There were not many things or people that caught Edmund off-guard, but his wife was very much an exception, as he learned more and more ever day.
As such, he could only say, “What?”
Sluggishly, the Queen sat up, “Well, you didn’t want to marry me.”
“You didn’t want to marry me, either.” Edmund pointed out immediately. Their marriage had been arranged, part of a political alliance between Narnia and Y/C/N, Y/N’s land. The bride and groom had not been pleased. “And we both loathed the state of our marriage for the first few months.”
This was true. Y/N- who had been titled the Y/N/T not long after this hated wedding- had actually taken to hiding in the Stables to avoid her husband.
Then things had changed and evolved, and they had spent time together and grown closer- and now, now she was so besotted and in love with him, she felt like one half of a couple from some dramatic romance novel.
And she was rather sure he felt the same way.
“Well, yes. But I was attracted to you from the beginning, you know. You are so beautiful, husband. If there is any human worthy of the title of the God of beauty, it is you.” Her voice was soft, and Edmund almost instinctively moved closer to her. “I may have hated you and our marriage, but the saving grace was your beauty and your respectfulness. Oh, and your freckles.”
The accent didn’t hurt, either.
He grinned, “Oh, speak on, please. I am enjoying this turn of conversation very much.”
To her surprise, she laughed out loud, “Of course you are.”
But it seemed she had spoken too soon, for at the same time, Edmund had spoken, “But I would like to finish the previous topic first. What was that about me wanting a thin spouse?”
“Um.” Y/N was regretting saying that suddenly. She was not one to bare her innermost emotions and thoughts often, unless it was in a diary. “Nothing.”
“Y/N.”
Oh, it really was serious if he was calling her by not a pet-name.
“What exactly happened with the Terabinthian delegation?”
The Queen groaned, and fell back in bed again.
“Your Majesty!” The head of the Terabinthian delegation, came over to the carriage in front of which Y/N stood. Curtseying, she spoke, “I am the Duchess of Terabinthia.”
She curtseyed as well, “The Y/N/T Queen, at your service.” While in Narnia, she preferred to use the epithet awarded to her because of her marriage to a Narnian King. If this had been her country, she’d have called herself the High Queen of Y/C/N. “Welcome to Narnia.”
“Thank you verily for making the time to meet us. We are grateful.”
“No need for gratitude, it was our honour.” Y/N said, wishing she could go home already. Why had Peter assigned her to do this? He knew she hated this- oh, that must be exactly why. She was absolutely going to bonk her brother-in-law on the head with her sword the next time they had a duel. “We are most glad you visited Narnia on your tour. And Y/C/N is next, I believe? I will make sure you have the best guide for your travel in my country.”
The Duchess bowed her head in gratitude, and her eyes widened.
“Oh, I did not know! My most heartfelt congratulations.”
Y/N blinked, “Thank you, but for what?”
Yes, she had new shoes on- not by her choice, but her most comfortable pair had actually fallen apart- but that wasn’t something to be congratulated upon.
“You are expecting! It has not been announced, as far as I know, so that must be why you are surprised.” Her face broke in a wide smile, and she did not notice as the Queen’s face withered. “You and King Edmund must be over the Moon.”
Y/N could not say anything. What could she say? That, no, she wasn’t pregnant, she was simply fat. That, no, her breasts had not grown because they would soon nurse a child, but because she had always been ample? That, no, the weight around her middle was not because there was a babe in her womb, but because she was unhealthy and unfit and always had been?
“How far are you along, Your Majesty? I imagine it must be the second trimester- Your Majesty?” The Duchess’s smile faltered. “Is everything- is all well?”
“Yes.” She had to be gracious, diplomatic. She could take off her new shoe and throw it at her, or go hide in her carriage and have a breakdown like she was a teenager again. “But I am not with child, my Duchess, my husband and I have yet to be blessed in that way. I am simply- this is simply how I am.”
The other woman’s eyes widened, and she took a nervous glance back, to the rest of the delegation, who were surely wondering what was taking so long.
“I am so- I cannot apologise enough, Your Majesty, I had no idea- I thought that, because of what you- because you are- I- forgive me.”
“Yes.” Y/N said, though she did not. It wasn’t the Duchess’s fault, she was fat, she knew, which was not common among royalty or nobility.
Still, she couldn’t help but harbour a grudge.
“Well. Shall we on?”
“Oh, I will be sending them a very strongly worded letter.” Edmund said, his face even paler than usual and his eyes burning with anger. Who in their right mind would speak to his beautiful, wonderful, courageous wife in such a way? “How dare-”
“Because it’s the truth. I am fat.” Y/N said, and looked down at herself. She was still garbed in exactly what she had been wearing then. “I can’t even tell myself that she misunderstood because I was bundled up in a cloak and shawl- I wasn’t and am not.”
It was a warm day, in summer. She’d worn a gown with cap-sleeves that the Royal Tailor had recently delivered, with intricate embroidery in an art style belonging to her homeland around the hemline, bodice, and sleeves. It was scarlet and purple and gold, and she had liked it, even loved it, but now she did not think she’d ever wear it again.
Not to mention, she was no beauty, but at least the jewels and crown distracted from the ugliness of her face.
“Y/N/n, you aren’t-”
“Oh, please. You have seen me naked enough times to know I speak the truth!”
He had seen, felt, touched the pudginess of her stomach, the curvy rolls around her sides. He’d gripped her thick thighs, he’d kissed them, and he’d slid his fingers over the dark-red stretch-marks that were present all over her body- her flabby arms, her fat thighs, her plump sides.
She squeezed her eyes shut, “I hate feeling like this. I know my weight does not equal my worth, I know it doesn’t matter that I’m ugly, and I know getting so upset is utterly stupid, but I cannot help it.”
She had felt insecure about her body for as long as she could remember. Even as a child, as one with little care for anything but her playthings, she remembered how she’d been upset when a pretty outfit gifted to her did not fit her, or when she’d preferred to wear something oversized to conceal her heaviness. Granted, no healer had ever said she, then the Princess, was overweight, simply that she was healthy and stout- but when compared to the slender, picturesque folk around her, she had felt and still felt like an elephant in silk.
“How could you not want someone thin- someone beautiful? Someone- someone who’s not me.”
Edmund felt rather at a loss. He always knew what to say, how to take charge of a conversation, how to keep the other person calm- but he felt utterly speechless in the moment. His oft-praised silver-tongue had all but disappeared.
But he knew one thing- he did not agree with his wife.
“My darling.” He lay down beside her as well, and pulled her to him, nestled in his arms. He felt a soft breath of comfort escape her lips, and he was glad. “You say you were attracted to me the moment we met?”
Y/N nodded, hiding her face in his chest, “Even more so when I heard your accent.”
He held back a laugh, and went on, “And you know how I felt when I saw you?”
She shook her head, her Y/H/C hair falling over his blue-and-grey tunic, and Edmund berated himself for never telling her this before.
“I was mesmerised.” He said softly, so softly that Y/N had to look up, her Y/E/C eyes wide. “I would say enchanted, for that would be very true, but you know I have a rather difficult past with enchantments, so let’s stick to mesmerised. I could not take my eyes off you.”
Y/N muttered something that was probably ‘because of the corset’, but her cheeks were on fire.
Admittedly, his wife’s breasts had been rather pushed up and obvious because of the corset she’d worn under her outfit during their first meeting- and, yes, Edmund had not been able to stop himself from blatantly staring for a few seconds- but he was not speaking of that.
“You were rolling your eyes as you were formally announced-”
Almost predictably, she rolled her eyes again, and her husband did laugh softly this time.
“And I remember you were holding onto your own arm, as if comforting yourself, as if reminding yourself to be strong.” He spoke, dipping his head to press a kiss to her forehead. “Just by those two actions, you had my respect and my admiration, and then your beauty had my enthrallment as well.”
“Edmund...”
“You may not be what utterly vapid folk all over the world consider to the epitome of beauty,” which he absolutely did not, “but that did not stop me from thinking you to be the goddess of my dreams.”
She pressed her body closer to his, almost instinctively, as if her very skin wanted to be nearer to him.
“A thought I still have every single day.”
Emotion sparkled in her eyes.
“Really?”
And she still doubted him. Of course.
“Yes.”
“Even though I’m fat, and lumbering, and don’t even get me started on my nose-”
He wanted to throw a pillow at her, but restrained himself to saying, “Would you do me a favour?”
“I would die and kill for you, Edmund.” Y/N gave her husband a fond look. After what he had just said- oh, she had not thought she could have loved him any more than she already had, but she did! So, so much. She wanted to kiss him already. “Yes, of course, what is it?”
Edmund’s lips curved, “Could I undress you?”
Well, she would never be saying no to that.
She nodded, far too excited yet far beyond caring about seeming pathetic- and, soon enough, Edmund’s clever fingers were undoing laces and pulling down fabric and ghosting over her bare skin.
Once she was naked, Y/N reached for her husband, to make the situation equal, but he took her hands in his instead, before she could grip and tear at his tunic.
“What?” She asked impatiently. She wasn’t insecure in front of him anymore, she hadn’t been in years, not since the first time they had made love. All she thought when she was nude around him, was that she wanted him to be that way as well. “Let me undress you already, so we can-”
“That’s not what I meant.” He said, his freckled cheeks blushing. His wife cocked her head at him, and he elaborated, “I want you to know something- see something.”
Her eyes narrowed, “If you’re going to stand me in front of the mirror to look at my bare body, I will get my sword right now and tear your limbs instead of your clothes.”
Edmund’s intentions may be noble, but there was nothing Y/N hated the sight of more than her ungainly figure in the mirror.
Except vegetable mash. Ugh.
Ah, how delightfully murderous his darling wife was. Her country and his own was lucky to have her.
“No, no.” And he lay Y/N down on their bed, her hands clasped under her breasts, and she was giving him with a quizzical look the entire time.
He climbed carefully on top of her, half-covering her body with his, and pretended he didn’t notice Y/N rolling her hips against a part of his body that was extremely fond of his wife and extremely susceptible to her- to her everything.
“I want you to know exactly how I see you- and, hopefully, one day, via you gaining some sense or via osmosis or whatever, you’ll see it, too.”
What was osmosis?
Y/N was about to ask, but her words and her breath was stolen when she felt Edmund’s kisses on the space between her breasts.
But his hands were not on her breasts, as she’d hoped- they were on her plump upper arms, and he was speaking in a whisper to the hollow of her throat, “I see these as strength. I see these as proof that you are the most skilled swordsperson I know, the strongest person I know.”
His hands wandered down her arms to the pudgy rolls of her stomach, and Y/N squirmed. She could not help but think she was glad she had missed breakfast and had yet to have lunch, otherwise she’d be even fatter.
But Edmund was not thinking about her diet, he was speaking, still in that soft, reverential tone, “You call these pudgy, you think this is fat? Even if it is, I don’t care. Because I see this as you being healthy, as a sign that you will be with me for a long, long time, that you won’t be snatched away from me by cruel disease or anything like that.”
“Never.” Y/N vowed breathlessly- she would never leave him, she would fight time itself if necessary. “We’ll always be together.”
His response was a kiss to her throat, and his hands finally reached her breasts.
She wanted to close her eyes, to revel in his touch and know no other senses- but he was looking at her, his dark twinkling eyes never wavering from her face, and she could not look away.
He squeezed them, fingers glancing over her hard nipples, and said, “Want to know what I think of these?”
Y/N could only nod, too eager and too wanton and too in love.
“Fucking sexy.”
And his mouth met hers, finally, finally, finally.
It was a passionate kiss, for there had not been a single day in their lives together they had not desired each other- but as much as there was lust, there was love. As they kissed, Edmund’s heart was soothed because Y/N’s lips were warm on his- and Y/N’s soul was comforted, because Edmund’s mouth was steady against hers. His hand grazed against her breast again, and she slid her tongue inside his mouth, and they both drew even closer together in their embrace.
One of Y/N’s hands slipped inside Edmund breeches, inside his boxers, and wrapped itself around him. Edmund gasped into his wife’s mouth as he felt her touch, and Y/N’s hips rolled against his, her hands already stroking her husband’s cock.
But all too soon, Edmund pulled away, panting.
“Too daring, darling.” He said, as breathless as she’d been minutes ago. “I was trying to make a point, not-”
“Make love?” Y/N asked, her brows raised. She was sopping, needy, and she didn’t think she’d ever loved him more. Please, please, please could he take off his clothes already? “If there is a vote between the two, husband, I will be voting the latter, just for your information.”
“Noted,” Edmund kissed her shoulder, “but I am not done.”
He drew away from her, and Y/N groaned. Sitting up between her parted legs, Edmund took a moment to look down at his wife. At the expanse of her soft skin, occasionally marked with a mole or pimple or scar. At the curves that had made her ravishing to him the first time he’d seen her, and which had continued to only grow in loveliness over the years. At the valley between her legs, at the dips in her sides as her hips flared out.
Y/N was curves and dips and valleys, and he could not help but be glad she was not thin as a lamp-post, and Edmund thought of how- to him- her body was perfect to kiss and hold and caress and love.
He smiled suddenly, “You know, sometimes when I can’t sleep, I look at you, and I try to decide which is my favourite curve on your body.”
She blinked very rapidly. That was far more romantic than counting sheep- or dragons, as she preferred.
Sometimes, in her most lovelorn moments, she would count Edmund’s freckles. She usually got too distracted by them to actually sleep, though.
“Have you- have you ever made a decision?”
Edmund shook his head, his unruly bangs falling into his eyes.
“Sometimes I think it’s this.” He ran her hand down the bend of her right side, “sometimes this-” he gripped her left thigh just above where it met her knee, “and sometimes- often, actually- your tits.”
Y/N giggled.
Edmund bent his head low then, still holding her thighs. He peppered kisses to the stretch marks painted over her thighs and her waist, and felt a tight, hot coiling inside the pit of his stomach as Y/N trembled in pleasure underneath him.
“What do those tell you?” Y/N asked, her voice a murmur. She wrapped her legs around him, locking him in place. If she could keep him here forever, she would. She felt so content, so calm in his arms- apart from the raging want to fuck him. “My stretch-marks?”
“You’re marked by the Heavens.” His voice caught, almost, and he almost shivered at the intensity of her eyes. “They resemble lightning strikes, you know? And lightning, like storms, like the rain, comes from the Heavens.”
Hm. She’d compared her stretch marks to dead worms before, because they were roughly the same shade, but beautiful rain, which covered the earth with an even more beautiful smell whenever it fell?
“How am I supposed to keep thinking of myself as ugly, if you keep saying things like that?”
It was not quite a victory, but it was close enough.
“Exactly. You’re not supposed to think of yourself as that, because you’re as far from that as I can imagine.”
Her heart thudded in her chest, and seemed to grow. They had made love so many times in- in so many ways, so many places- but she was certain that this was the most intimate moment they had ever shared.
“You can’t just kiss away all of my insecurities.” She spoke with a small laugh, as Edmund lifted his head up to gaze at her. She really wished he could, but neither of them could wholly and fully heal the pain inside each other. “Try as you might, it’s not possible.”
“Well, I’ll still keep trying.” He shrugged, and pressed a very light kiss to her clit, which made Y/N moan out loud. He would absolutely have to lavish more attention there, he decided firmly, he was as amorous as she was. “I love you. I love you, and you are the love of my life, Y/N/n, and you are beautiful.”
She pulled him down next to her again, and she nestled herself closer to him. Edmund’s arms encircled her, and she was glad to be the little spoon. She was usually very glad to be the big spoon, holding her husband in her arms, but she loved this position very much, too.
Y/N didn’t think of herself as truly beautiful, and perhaps never would; Y/N did not think of her being plump in a positive light, and perhaps never would- but in this moment, and many other moments after this, Y/N would look down at herself, and she would not recoil, she would not grimace, she would only remember her husband’s words, and she would remember her strength and her bravery and the fact that she was alive, and she would no longer be cruel to her own self.
In this moment, and in many other moments after this, there was peace- in her mind as well as his, and in their hearts and souls, which perhaps were as joined together as the Moon and the stars.
Until there came knocks on the door minutes later, and Y/N all but shoved Edmund to open it. He gave her a look, but could do nothing more- she was naked, after all, she couldn’t open the door. Drat, he really didn’t want to get up.
Regardless, he kissed her nose, which scrunched up in the most adorable manner, and got out of bed.
Ah, the struggles of Kingship.
“I’m sorry to disturb, Your Majesty, but Queen Susan asked to inform you and Queen Y/N that lunch has been laid.”
“Oh, thank you very much,” Edmund said, after a glance back at his wife, who was smiling lazily at him over the tops of her breasts. He felt a blush coming on again. “But my Queen-wife and I are both feeling a bit under the weather, and I was about to request someone to bring our meal up to our chambers. Perhaps after half an hour?”
The faun bowed, “I shall have that be done, Your Majesty, thank you very much. My well-wishes for you and Her Majesty Y/N to soon feel better.”
Edmund nodded his head at him, a gracious smile on his face- and once the faun had departed, he closed the door and returned to the bed.
He snuggled close to his wife, who wrapped her arms around him. He felt perfectly, incandescently warm, and spoke into her shoulder, “I figured you would not want to face the world again today.”
She kissed his hair, saying, “You assume right, but what about you?”
“Oh, I prefer you to the world, by leaps and bounds.”
“I love you, husband.” Y/N said simply, and he pressed a short, chaste, yet endlessly loving kiss to her lips. “Anyway, now will you take off your clothes?”
Edmund matched her smirk with his, “How about you take them off for me, Y/N/n?”
Not another insecurity was thought of again that day, and the faun had to return with their meals four times before the King and Queen finally opened the door.

𝐞𝐝𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐡𝐜'𝐬
summary. headcanons of your relationship with edmund pevensie before dating. (fem reader)
— straight up fluff, nothing else. PART 2/2 [ link to part 1 here ]
— Reciting Shakespearean quotes to each other. You two can have a whole conversation with just quotes from Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, or even A Midsummer Night’s Dream. But the quotes just keep getting more and more suggestive until you're both just absentmindedly flirting with each other without even realizing it because it just seems so natural.
— Both of you staring at each other's lips while talking. Like his eyes dart from your eyes, to your lips, to your eyes, and back to your lips AGAIN because he just finds your lips looking so kissable. — (Expanding on the above ^) Close proximity between the two of you whenever he has the sudden urge to kiss you, (though that urge doesn't get full-filled for a while..) and INTENSE eye contact paired with soft murmurs. — BONUS: If you speak another language, use that to your absolute advantage. Just imagine.. (using French because that happens to be the language I speak, but just imagine it as whatever other language you speak.) Y/N: Je crois que je suis amoureux de toi. (I think I'm in love with you.) Edmund: What? Y/N: What?
— Brushing hands!! All the time!! Him grabbing your hand to lead you through a crowded hallway so you "don't get lost", but really it's just an excuse to be in contact with your skin. ^ (adding onto this) Making excuses along the lines of, "Your hands are cold.. let me warm them up for you." despite it being SUMMER and no where near cold.
— Tending his wounds after battle. At first he tries to hide his injuries from you, but he ends up failing miserably. You do end up scolding him for his reckless behavior while cleaning a cut right above his eye, but he doesn't even take in any of the words you're saying to him, for he's far too busy admiring how stunning you look when you're concentrated.
— Reading together all the time!! You've both read all the Narnian classics, of course. He always takes out two copies of the same book, in case you want to read the same book with him as well, so he can talk about it with you later. He loves when you read to each other as well, usually under a tree or shade of some sort, his head on your lap while you're gently running your fingers through the his hair. Your voice is the most beautiful thing he's ever heard, I swear, he could fall asleep to it. He also loves how your face contorts into different expressions as you're processing the plot, and how you bring the characters to life through changing your tone or pitch. He just thinks it's the greatest thing ever.
— Continuously denies whoever makes the assumption that he fancies you, despite him following you around like a love-sick puppy. I mean, seriously, a blind man could tell that he likes you. Peter is so sick of it.
— He gets so happy when he successfully makes you laugh out loud, because your laughter is like music to his ears. He immediately looks at you after making a joke in hopes to see your smile or hear your laugh. It's adorable, honestly.
— Awkwardly laughing to try not to malfunction when you give him a compliment. — Slow dancing in the dark when neither of you can fall asleep. The curtains are just slightly ajar, and everything around you is dead quiet, no words exchanged. He twirls you around just to hear your quiet laughter that is quickly muffled by your hand, not wanting to risk waking up anybody and getting caught. Your bodies are in absolute sync, and he's just praying that you can't hear his quickening heartbeat since the space between the two of you is almost nonexistent. — Dancing in the rain as well, laughing and clutching onto each other as the rain pours down, splashing in puddles as he twirls you around, both of you laughing like little kids. He couldn't care less if he wakes up with a cold the next day, (which he probably will considering the fact that his blouse is absolutely SOAKED in the rain.) because this is the happiest he's ever been in a while. — Sword fighting!!!! And once he finds out about your expertise with swords, well, that's just another thing to add on to his never-ending list of why he likes you. But his favorite part is when he eventually knocks your sword out of your hand, pinning you to the ground in the process. — And the first kiss... was something else. It all started with just one small kiss, pulling away instantly. But then it escalated VERY quickly. His hands cupped your face, but slowly moved down to your waist while one of your hands were tangled in his ebony locks, the other resting on his neck, his lips flush against your own. You slowly pulled away, but only when you absolutely needed air. Both of you were unable to open your eyes for a few seconds after the kiss, but you couldn't hold back the words that tumbled out of your mouth. ∙ "You kiss by th’ book" You spoke quietly, your voice still hoarse and breathless from the actions before. He rolls his eyes playfully, running his thumb over your bottom lip. ∙ "Now is not the time for Shakespeare, Y/N." He whispers, smiling down at you before leaning in once again. ∙ yoo pt 2 is out! ok so if u noticed, the 1st paragraph (the shakespeare one) kinda foreshadows the kiss so if u noticed that ur cool. ∙ wanted to get this 1 out quick bc finals are coming up on friday and ill be too busy studying.

The first chapter of Meadow Sweet Fennel is out! This is the sequel to White Catchfly and the second story of the Larch series.
After their return to Narnia, the Pevensies navigate a life so different and so familiar. ___
"He wasn’t trembling when he stopped, he was shaking from the shoulders to the still scabbed knuckles. He felt like a fool. He’d known beauty in this life with these feelings in another world drifting further and further away from him. His siblings had loved him and bolstered him in this. But things were different now. Now they had parents to give grandchildren and laws to abide by. And Edmund was tired."
